Selene didn't know if she would hug him, or slap him across the face when Cassian returned cradling her High Lady in his arms. Rhysand still was not at the town house, racing to meet them as a billowing cloud of darkness across the land.

He took up a place by the banister as Azriel stood beside Feyre and Mor, all of us waiting for Lucien to speak.

"There are children laughing in the streets." His words directed at Feyre, a indication of quiet surprise.

"That they do so at all after Hybern's attack is a testament to how hard the people of Velaris have been working to rebuild." Selene had felt Amren's approach from where she sat on the couch, a voice in her head screaming at her to run, to hide, away from this ancient foe.

Selene watched with astonishment as Amren inclined her head towards Feyre, as much respect, she supposed, that a fifteen-thousand year old would give a High Lady. She held back her snort as Lucien bowed deeply at his waist towards Amren, better than Cassian, who almost laughed outright. As she shared a grin with Cassian, the world tuned out for a second, before she saw her High Lord.

"Indeed she is," Rhysand drawled, awnsering a previous statement made. The Circle looked on before quietly leaving Feyre and Rhysand, with Lucien in tow, to their...reassociation with each other, to Rita's.

Rita's was always a boisterous place, even in midday. Selene saw why Mor loved this place so dearly. Already hoarding a table, they all crowded in and began their introductions.

"...and that," said Mor, waving a fork at Selene "is Selene, our resident mapmaker and scout."

Selene gave a little wave, to indicate that she was who Mor said she was. Not a few moments later, and Lucien was already revolted at Amren's intresting taste in drink. Cassian gave a bellowing laugh, no doubt inebriated from the cups of wine he'd been downing.

As they laughed and chatted at their table in Rita's, Selene wondered if Cassian felt it yet. If he felt the reason why she knew everything he felt and experienced, the reason why she was always there.
