Will woke up in the morning much before the sun was up. He glanced at his sleeping co-counselor. That guy was seriously weird, not the kind Will would expect to be a camp counselor at all. For starters, Will had seen him glare at so many people he stated to wonder if the guy had a grudge on everyone, and he just seemed so detached from everything so off in his little world. Will already felt...pulled to him, but he didn't know why. He brushed it off and went to get his morning coffee.

"G'morning." Silas grumbled as he walked into the kitchenette. Will shot him a mock-glare as he took some of Will's coffee from the pot. Silas rolled his eyes, and Will smiled.

"Stealing my coffee and  has a sassy attitude? You're pushing it man." Will teased and sipped the coffee black while Silas added creamer to his. "Eugh, and you ruin the coffee."

Will watched as Silas just walked away, grumbling. It made him think am I ever gonna get on this guy's good side???

Never the less, Will continued on with his morning, he washed his face, put on moisterizer, and drank the rest of his coffee.

Will walked out the door, and stood on the porch, tapping his foot. The schedule said that he and Silas has campfire clean up...which was bound to be a mess, they hadn't even gotten all the gum off from last year. The least he could do was procrastinate by waiting for his pissy cabin mate.

Silas came out of the cabin glaring and Will couldn't help the thoughts that came in his mind. I wonder what it would be like to make him smile...maybe make him scream my name while I'm at it--- Stop, that's a little naughty, Will.  Will smiled at Silas, and to Will's surprise, Silas waved back. Baby steps. Will thought, as the two boys started walking in comfortable silence.

"So...Will, what's your like...story..." Silas asked, his voice getting quieter and quieter as he spoke. That just made Will smile more.

"I was raised here actually, I used to go here as a camper when I was a kid-- I was unaware that the only reason they allowed me to go for free was because my mom was friends with the founder." Will said with one of his signature grins. He didn't notice the blush on Silas's face. "And you? Your story?"

Silas coughed. "It's my first year volunteering. Therapist said it would be good to 'mend my inner child' or some bullshit like that." He said. Will thought Silas's therapist was a wise person for saying that, but also brave for opposing Silas in any way possible. The dude was seriously scary.

"That's good, regardless of the reasoning, I hope you come back next year too." Will wasn't lying when he said it and it was conveyed in his voice- at least he hoped. Silas gave a raise of his eyebrows, though wether it was questioning or in recognition Will didn't manage to figure out. They were quiet after that. They were quiet a lot, honestly.

"What's your favorite food?" Will asked, as he scraped a piece of gum up.

"Uhhhh... fish sticks."

"Really of all foods in the world you choose fish sticks??"  Will laughed.

Silas raised his hands in defense, but if you looked close enough you could see he was biting back a smile.

"Hey they're good. What about you, sunny boy, what's your favorite food."

"Chicken noodle soup. It's comforting."  Will answered.

Silas snorted. "Should've expected that kinda answer from the literal embodiment of happiness."

"It's good to be happy." Will answered simply, as he threw out the gum he's scrape doff the stands and grabbed a scrubbing brush to get the goo off. "I used to be unhappy all the time, and life was awful, but now...it's not so bad."

Silas quirked his eyebrow, at Will but Will didn't see it, they just kept on working.

"You know...I wouldn't think you ever struggled like that." Silas said as they walked to the dining hall to get some food and meet with the other counselors, it had been so long since they'd spoken to each other- each busy with their own tasks -that it took Will a moment to remeber what he was talking about.

"Oh...uh yeah I did. But, it got better, it always does. I still have to remind myself that sometimes y'know?" Will said softly.

"Yeah, I do. I know." Silas said, softer than Will even. So much was conveyed in those words, so much that didn't need to and wouldn't be said.

Will simply nodded. They were silent again. Nothing else needed to be said.
