Shadow found himself once again sat at his cubicle. The office Team Dark usually use is under a light reconstruction. Regardless, Shadow sat and waited for the Commander's word. Much like his fiancé, his foot tapped anxiously, repeatedly, as he waits with his robot friend.

"YOU LOOK LIKE SHIT." Omega comments, his metallic claws pointing towards Shadow's noticeable eye bags.

"Genetic shit is happening to me... And Tower's mentioned how he and Reagan were able to get more info about that first location we went to." Shadow explains. He buries his face into his hands. "I shouldn't have to be putting up with this at the moment. My wedding is in a few days, I should be focusing on that instead of..."

Omega, not quite sure what to do, just pets Shadow's head. "NOT SURE IF THIS HELPS, BUT THERE THERE."

A pause of quiet before Shadow smirks. "How badly did that hurt?"

"A LOT." Omega says.

"Agent Shadow; the Commander will like to see you and Omega now." Said a young woman, looks dressed like a secretary.

"Thank you, Stace." Shadow says.

The Hybrid heads towards the office, where Rouge is already in there, talking to Tower about something. His face, pale and shock with worry. His mixed matching eyes snapped to the door when Shadow entered.

"Shadow..." He said when his eyes landed on the hedgehog. "You've gotten much taller."

"Cut the theatrics, sir. Rouge... Did you...?"

"Tell him about Maria, yeah." She admits.

"How... Is it a Robotnik-made...?" The Commander asks.

"No. Someone else. They found the old Project: Shadow earth base from years prior." Shadow admits. "It is where me and Sonic found her."

"Does she... Know?"

"Yes."

Towers sighed, getting up to grab a cup of coffee. He was unnaturally silent. No doubt his mind was racing too. "I see. And your appearance, Agent Shadow..."

Reagan, who was standing besides the desk, hands Shadow a mirror. He noticed the whites of his eyes were turning a yellowish tint, and his fangs growing larger. He was changing again. "Why is this even happening?"

"It is strange," Replied Reagan. "This starting after your team found you out cold with injection points, and Maria suddenly reappearing. Even if we tested your DNA, the current Inhibitor Ring are collecting data as we speak - your DNA is still chaotic." The doctor says, using a hologram to display to the hedgehog the status of the DNA. Shadow recognized this change; while not exactly one to one, it was the same thing that Shadow had to go through back when he was getting his powers. Bitter sweet memories tickle the back of his brain. He shakes his head at the thought before turning to Reagan.

"There was also this sheet Sonic and I had found. Does this look familiar in any sense?" Shadow hands the scientist the sheet of the abstract.

"Remnant... It couldn't be..." Reagan turns pale.

"Dr. Ridley? What seems to be the problem?" The Commander states.

"It was a theory - barely a hypothesis years ago!" She obviously wasn't listening as she looked scared.

"Reagan. I need you to focus. What's the importance of Remnant?" Shadow says.

The woman sighs, taking a moment to catch her breath, to collect her thoughts. "Back in college, there was this guy, Silas Johnson. We were the top two of the class, and we were friends. He was always hooked on the theory of Remnant. According to the theory, the reasons for hauntings, specifically haunted objects and buildings, is of a place of great horror and tragedy. Bits of the spirits are supposedly tied to a place or object that survived great horror. But it is nothing short of a theory, but for someone to properly execute it - Silas would be the one to try it."
