Episode 1; Pilot Part Four
The screen lit back up, stopping conversations all around the hall.
We get a shot of the bridge from the side, the moon still shining bright and the crickets still chirping and frogs still croaking, almost as if whatever had happened on that bridge was all a mirage. A dream.
A man's grunting could be heard off-screen before the camera focused on a hanging body underneath the bridge. They watched as Sam shimmied himself up and straddled a large horizontal pole. He glanced down, his hair hanging in his eyes as he rasped, "Dean!"
Below the bridge, in the rushing water, you could just make out a figure, covered in muck and mud and soaking wet-and very angry about it. "What?" he snapped as he tilted his head back to be able to see his little brother.
"Hey, are you alright?" Sam asked, his breathing fast and shallow, his breath visible in the air.
Dean fell on his back on the bank of the river and lifted his hand in an A-OK sign as he quipped sarcastically, "I'm super."
Sam laughed in disbelief that they both got out of that situation alive.
From below, Dean called out, "Where's Teddy? Is she okay?"
Sam's smile fell as he remembered the little girl that had been with them. "I-I don't know. Hang on," he grunted as he lifted himself up and started to climb back up the bridge to the blacktop. "Let me check."
Dean wheezed as he stood up, "I'll meet you up there," he waved toward his brother's figure and started to figure out a way off the little island he was on without having to go back into the river.
"How did they not realize that Thea wasn't with them? And whose Teddy?" Harry asked, he turned to look at the smartest person he knew-Hermione.
She noticed his stare and rolled her eyes, exasperated. "Her name is Theodosia, Harry! Thea and Teddy are just her nicknames. Teddy must be a special nickname. One that only Dean can say."
"What makes you say that?" Harry asked, his brow furrowed.
She very nearly rolled her eyes again. "Because she wasn't introduced to Sam as Teddy."
He nodded as realization dawned on his features, his emerald-green eyes lighting up in recognition. "Ooh,"
Hermione turned away from her best friend and rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, but the kid has a point. Why didn't they notice sooner that their sister wasn't with them?" Clint interjected.
Natasha rolled this over in her mind before her blue orbs gleamed. "Sam just met her, so he must not be used to having to worry about anybody else other than Dean. And Dean has known Thea for however long now, maybe we can assume he already knew about her powers and thus wasn't as worried about her because she could protect herself."
