SHE SEEMED NICE

SHE SEEMED NICE... i suppose that was all i could think of at the moment.

"nice to meet you. my name is [name] and i'll be your personal bodyguard for the following three weeks-" she cut me off before i could finish.

she shoved her bag and a basket into my hands and my mouth immediately shut as she envelopes king arthur into her arms.

"yeah yeah. so arthur, were we still on for that picnic?" she brushed me off.

king arthur chuckled nervously.

i don't think i had anything to say.

except that she was sort of rude, forget nice.

thanks to my training it was very easy to conceal my disgust and i maintained a plain face.

"sure but... introduce yourself first. we don't want to be rude," king arthur said as he sweetly peeled her off of him.

she huffed and turned back to face me, "i'm yui."

"nice to meet you lady yui," i took a bow as i said that.

suddenly merlin appeared from around the corner with a small, satisfied look on her face.

this yui girl didn't give me really good vibes but i was here to follow orders.

"oh. hello there yui," merlin greeted the girl.

yui smiled at her and waved.

merlin looked at me and examined me, holding the lady's purse and picnic basket.

"will you be accompanying king arthur and lady yui on their picnic, [name]?" merlin asked me.

"if that's what you would like. i don't mind either way," i told her with a soft smile.

merlin looked at arthur with a raised brow.

it took him a second but he jumped slightly and looked around.

"oh! that would be fine," arthur told merlin who nodded her head with a smile.

"[name]. can i speak to you before you go?" i nodded my head at merlin and we walked a few ways away from the couple.

"report back to me... shall anything go wrong any time between these three weeks, i think it would be good that i know."

i nodded my head and bowed before making my way out to arthur and yui.

"are you two ready to go?" i asked.

arthur smiled at me and nodded before being dragged out of the castle doors by yui yanking his arm.

they had chosen to take a brief walk to a beautiful pasture covered in flowers.

i could even see my favorite flowers in the distance but... as much as i wanted to go off and smell them, i had other orders.

finally they settled on a spot and placed the blanket down.

all i could do was stand a small distance away, pretending to mind my own business as they had uninteresting conversations about the banquet and festivals.

"okay. let's eat. i'm starving!"

arthur agreed with the girl but as soon as they opened up the basket, the air smelled foul.

my head quickly snapped towards their direction and i caught the girls attention quickly which made her groan.

"is there a problem?" she asked with annoyance laced in her voice.

"my deepest apologies for this but... i must check that basket," i explained.

yui began to turn red.

i couldn't tell if it was from anger, embarrassment or jealously.

king arthur nodded and handed me the basket.

i quickly waved a hand over it, a dark purple light shining from my hand.

i felt angry as my assumption was correct.

"who prepared this basket?" i asked.

i felt like my voice was becoming more rough.

my first day here and someone was already trying to fucking poison this kid.

"what?!" yui yelled at me and approached me.

oh brother.
