Chapter 18

At 6 in the evening, Priya woke up, freshened up, and went downstairs. She saw Krishna Ji and Dadi getting ready to go somewhere.

She went up to them and asked, "Ma, Dadi, where are you both going?"

Krishna Ji explained, "Well, Priya, there's a Jagrata at my friend's place. Both Dadi and I are going there."

"Yes, Puttar. We'll be back tomorrow morning," Dadi added.

"But Dadi, Ma, you're going to a gathering all night long." Priya started to say, but Dadi interrupted, "Hey girl, what's this? Do you think we're old? We're used to sitting at such gatherings."

Priya felt concerned for Krishna Ji and Dadi. She looked at them with worry on her face. Krishna Ji turned to her, touched her cheek, and said, "Priya, don't worry. We're used to it, and if there's any problem, we'll come back home."

Priya smiled, reassured by Krishna Ji's words. She hugged Dadi and Krishna Ji and said, "Take care, both of you. Come back safely."

Neha, Soumya, and Natasha return after shopping. Dadi asks, "Done with your shopping?"

"Yes, Dadi, we're all set," Neha replies.

"In that case, all of you come with us for the Jagrata," Dadi suggests.

Upon hearing this, Neha, Soumya, and Natasha exchange glances.

Priya speaks up: "Yes, let's go. We'll join Ma and Dadi for the Jagrata."

Dadi and Krishna Ji exchanged contented smiles. "No, Priya Puttar, you don't need to come. I was just teasing these three," Dadi said, pointing at Neha, Soumya, and Natasha. "Look at how their faces fell!"

Priya couldn't help but chuckle at the playful banter between Dadi and Krishna Ji.

"Neha said, 'Dadi, we came with you, but we're really tired from all the shopping.'

Dadi replied, 'You went shopping and got tired; that's why you're not coming. Look at Priya, Puttar; she just arrived. She's also tired but still ready to come with us. And you three got tired from shopping.'

Neha said to Soumya and Nuts, 'Dadi, why are you scolding us? You both go. Next time, we'll all come with you, okay?'

'Let's go, Biji, or else we'll be late. These girls will keep on talking,' Krishna Ji said."

"Okay, let's go," Dadi said.

"Ma, Dadi, please take care of yourselves," Priya said.

"Don't worry, beta, we'll be fine," Krishna Ji assured, and they both left.

Neha, Soumya, and Natasha sit down on the sofa. Priya smiles at them and says, "You guys sit; I'll make tea for everyone."

"Yeah, we really need chai," Neha says.

Priya gives them water and goes to the kitchen to start making tea.

Priya comes back with tea, and they all start chatting together.

Priya said, "You guys sit; I'll start preparing dinner."

Hearing this, Neha holds Priya's hand, makes her sit down, and says, "We know you're a great cook, but today we want to eat something made by your hands."

"Why?" Priya asked.

"Well, you're always busy in the kitchen; it's high time you took some time for yourself," Neha said.
