Jamie Adeyemi was a bright flame on the wick of a candle, always wanting to shine brightly and burn fiercely.

He always strived to do well, academically and socially. In the Nigerian village he grew up in, Jamie made a name for himself:

The immortal flame.

Like fire Jamie's light burnt brightly and his antics attracted people to him just like a moth was to a flame.

His mum called him a prodigy and rightly so.

Not everyone liked his fire though. No matter how hard he shone his father refused to acknowledge his achievements.

Instead of praising him for bringing his family honour, his father berated him for being reckless.

He always focused on his failures and forgot his achievements.

His mother always told him to forget his father and focus on himself but then again she also begged him to be careful.

For her sake, he took things down a notch... sort of.

Things with his father got worse as he grew older. He would yell at Jamie for absolutely nothing and make his life a living hell.

So Jamie's mum called an old friend in Peckham, begging her to take Jamie in as her temporary foster son while she worked on the divorce.

For the first few months Jamie was in Peckham, he was quiet.

The light in his eyes had vanished.

His grades dropped as soon as he started high school.

Everyone worried about him, some people gave him help while others gave up on him.

Through it all, there were two people who never gave up on him: his foster mother and his biological mother.

They worked tirelessly to make sure he as well as the children in his foster mum's care, excelled.

Jamie and the other kids made a pact to do well and repay their mothers for all the support, love and kindness they gave them.

Their love was a stepping stone.

When Jamie got expelled from his performing arts school, his mothers still loved him.

When Venice rose and Jamie's picture was displayed on the news he was sure his mothers would be horrified, disappointed even.

Instead, the sent him a message each saying that they didn't believe he did it neither did his foster brothers and sisters.

Jamie died in the flames of his insecurity and rose as Pheonix.

Now he burned with a fire that no one could ever take away from him...

The immortal fire of a mother's love.

A/N: OK... I'm sorry if this feels rushed but I'm kind of happy about how this turned out. Um, one thing I'd like to point out is that my interpretation of Phoenix having two mum's was that Pheonix's bio mum was able to come to Peckham and raise Pheonix alongside her friend who had also taken in other kids from troubled homes.

I see it as a sisterhood and not a romantic relationship, sorry if some people aren't too happy about it but that's just my headcannon.

Anyways, my mocks are starting on either Wednesday or Thursday so wish me luck☺️

Have a good day or night wherever you are!

Stay safe! ✨💜
