10: Welcome to Wonderland

The beer.

She intently stared at the bottle while Jake held it for her. He nodded again, urging her to have a taste. She gulped hard, the urge inside her making her mouth water. She wonders if this will help her forget things? She was about to lift her hand to reach for it, but he retrieved the bottle and drank it.

She was taking her time, but the man obviously is not buying her so-called courage when she is nothing but a prey in front of a deadly predator. She's pretty sure he's not going to be impressed by her little impulsive behavior.

Why is she even talking to him? He abducted her, she must remind that to herself multiple times because her loneliness and wanting for a human interaction is betraying her.

He retrieved the bottle and took a sip from it. "Well, if you don't want to, it's fine. You can taste it in my mouth, if you like." He teased and winked at her.

Elisse looked away and wiped her face, trying to ignore what he said. She kept quiet while they both stared at the darkness of the sea in front of them. Although, it still looks so magical because of the bright moon, it kind of looked like there are glitters by the seashore.

"Now that you know I'm not their child, are you going to take me home?" She asked and looked at him.

He leaned his elbow against his leg to lean closer to her. "Now that you know that they don't want you home, why go back? I mean, you can stay here." He said and shrugged.

"Why would I do that?" She asked, frowning and shaking her head because of his idiotic suggestion.

"For some good fuck, I guess." He said and arrowed his eyebrows. Elisse rolled her eyes and looked away.

"God, why am I even expecting you to speak to me properly. I don't even think you're capable of it." She said and reverted to look at the darkness of the sea in front of them. "And I'm engaged to a beautiful man, just so you know." She answered, looked away and covered herself with the blanket he gave her.

"So? I mean, he's not here right now. I can give you a head start. I'm really good, I promise." He said, teasing her again.

"Do you mind?" She said and glared at him. "I would really like it if you allowed me to indulge in my solitude."

He rolled his eyes this time. "Do you really think your boyfriend is still looking for you?" He asked and leaned his back against the couch, drinking from his beer again.

"Why wouldn't he? Of course, he's looking for me." Elisse answered and glared at him.

"21 days, Alice. You're in this wonderland for 21 days now. And yet, I haven't heard anything from him." Jake said and shrugged his shoulders.

"You're lying."

"What would I get if I lied, hm? The only thing that I want from this abduction is money. Unfortunately, it turned out that you cost nothing for them." He answered and continued drinking his beer.

"Stop." She uttered, gulping hard to stop herself from crying. That sounded more painful, he doesn't need to poke her wound like that.

"Hurts like a bitch, huh? That's the funny thing about relationships. Not all of them work. I'm sure he's with someone right now who can blow him like a champ." He said again, the provocation he's doing is making her feel worse. "Men liked it if women know how to satisfy them. You have no idea what an experienced woman can do to us." He continued and arched his eyebrows, still teasing her.
