She ran down the hallway, hoping her speed would help her reach the end of it. She ran faster and faster yet she could not, even as little as, see the end of the hall. She stopped and panted. Maia walked to one of the doors and opened them. Inside the room was a single bed with white sheets, a wooden desk and a wooden chair placed in front of a fake window. The walls were bare and the room was cold. It had the same interior as all of the other rooms she checked.

She used her heel to shut the door. The immense force used on the door created a shocking blow which sent her braid flying and a loud sound echoing through the endless hallway. She continued walking at a normal pace, her shoes clacking against the wooden floorboard. She stopped abruptly.

A smile began forming on her face. She began laughing. She laughed hysterically. She laughed and laughed and laughed. Then she stopped, to catch her breath.

"Good game you old hag, good game... I really didn't think I'd need to use my Shadow Energy for this. I really thought it would be easier... but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate a fun little game."

She stepped backwards.

"You created spells to repel Shadow Beings... And Shadow Beings learned to use their abilities to destroy your spells. Sure it takes lots of our stamina but nonetheless, we're always one step ahead of you. Enjoy your reunion present, Helga..."

She opened her arms as if to give someone a hug, and then she slammed her fists together. A green light began flowing out of her body and eyes.

"Your mediocre labyrinth spell is no match for my source of decision... Covetousness..."

The source of decision is the special power and abilities granted to the members of the Shadow Clan. These abilities stem from the reason they decided to become Shadow Beings. It comes from the intense emotion and circumstance that made them want to join the Shadow Clan. Covetousness... Intense jealousy. She could now see things that she couldn't see before. I guess jealousy makes you overanalyze things, and see things that aren't really there. Maia noticed the blue glass on the other side of the wall, through which she could see what the house actually looked like.

"Nice expensive decorations, old hag. Putting the villagers' tax money to good use I see."

She charged at the blue glass and shattered it with her leg. The hallway and doors began disappearing. The house rumbled. Maia threw her arms to the side, thus disabling her power. She dusted her clothes.

"Didn't take as much strength as I expected. Guess that promotion has some other perks too."

She began humming and casually walked down the stairs to the basement, where she would find her treasure. Her demeanour was as if she wasn't worried at all if she was caught. She knew that people were at home and she knew they could also feel the house rumble. They'd probably rush to guard their precious treasures. She didn't care. She didn't care one bit. They were no match for her.

The basement was dark. This wasn't a problem. Things work out better for Shadow Beings in the darkness and shadows. It grants them strength and power. The crates had to be somewhere around here, protected by the black safe. Maia walked to the corner of the room, where she knew the safe to be located.

Surprisingly, in front of the safe stood the annoying child, his hands spread out. She didn't expect him to be there... and he grew quite a bit since the last time she saw him.

"You," he said, fear quivering in his voice. "Why have you come back? You were banished from here two years ago!"

"Oh don't play dumb Aleccy," she said softly, leaning in towards the child much shorter than her. "You know why I'm here. Now move aside before I blast you into smithereens."

"Don't call me that name. And I'm not moving! I won't let you steal this! Even a single bottle of this is more than enough to murder an entire nation."

"Annoying child," she said threateningly. "I know the power of this poison. Move aside before I make you move. And why are you doing this anyway? Hmm? Trying to finally get your mother's approval, you useless twerp. If I succeed here, which I probably will, she'll be more worried that her treasure's gone instead of the safety of her child. She has the sick mentality of a person who wants to be considered a hero. She would sacrifice you for the world. Quantity over quality."

He gulped but stood his ground. The fear surged through his body and he held back the tears welling up behind his eyes. He wanted to cry not because he was scared, but because he knew that what she said was true. He was just a guarantee for his mother. He allowed her to be chief even if she wasn't of the Port Reginian soil. A sick father and a mother who sees him as an asset...

"You know," he said, shivering. "You know your father misses you."

"If he missed me he wouldn't have- It doesn't matter! It doesn't seem like you're moving on your own accord."

She swung her hand across Alec's face, which sent him flying across the room and rendered him unconscious. Then she sent a green blast shooting out her hands, blasting the door of the black safe open. Inside were the crates, filled with the poison of the dragon prince's scale. The thick, bubbling liquid in crystal bottles. A poison strong enough to kill a kingdom and leave no remnants. Incredibly acidic and toxic. She smiled.

"Little Noonie-poo must be slacking off. His soft heart must've already fallen to these hypocrites' artificial kindness. Let me finish up here then go have a little fun... Catch him in the act."

She removed a black pouch from her pocket. A portal that allows the owner to send anything to The Ally and have The Ally send anything to them. One by one she plopped each bottle into the pouch, feeling happier with each one.

"Imbecile he is really. Dumbass who doesn't pay attention. Idiot. Nincompoop."

Her maniacal laughter filled the basement.
