[ A/N : my son and I have COVID so it will be a few more days before another chapter is pumped out! Stay tuned though! I'm not disappearing! ]

There was no stopping it, there was nothing I could do to stop the Doctor from changing. Was it selfish that I wish I could? That I could keep this version of the Doctor forever? Tears were rolling down my face as the Doctor took a deep breath, before the regeneration process took over. Golden energy was flowing from his arms, legs, and neck. It was so powerful that fires began to come alive around the TARDIS, beams began to fall. As much as I didn't want to leave the Doctor's side, I had to for my own safety. Dashing over behind the console, I held tight to the railing as the TARDIS shook violently, letting out cries of distress.

All I could do was watch as the process continued. He was screaming loudly and it broke my heart to hear it. Regeneration was painful, it felt like you were being ripped apart, just to be put back together again. I wasn't sure how long it lasted, but I knew it was over when the Doctor suddenly jerked forward, and the screaming stopped. My eyes went wide as I looked at him through the flames. He was taller, not by much, but enough to make a difference. His hair was long and brown, dangling over his eyes as he snapped back into reality. The clothes he wore were torn, and his necktie that he had been wearing was barely hanging on by a thread.

He looked younger, though he was older than I was. That's how regeneration worked though, sometimes you'd look younger, sometimes you'd look older. It was really a shot in the dark, you didn't have control over what you became by any means. My hands were trembling as tears silently fell down my cheeks. "Legs. I've still got legs. Good!" His voice was completely different as well, it had a higher pitch than before. I watched him carefully as he picked up each of his legs one by one, kissing the top of his knees. "Arms. Hands. Ah, fingers. Lots of fingers. Ears, yes." His hands travelled all across his body to each part he spoke about. "Eyes, two. Nose, I've had worse. Chin, blimey. Hair. I'm a girl!" I couldn't help but let out a light laugh as I stared at him and his silly actions. At least he'd regenerated with all his parts attached "No. No. I'm not a girl. And still not ginger. And something else. Something important." Spinning around on his new feet, the Doctor looked around the TARDIS mildly confused.

That happened often, sometimes it took our brains a little longer to catch back up with us after such a violent change. "Doctor?" I called out to him, keeping my hands on the railing as I made my way towards him. He looked over at me with a big smile before the TARDIS jolted. It sent me to the floor as the Doctor ran over and held onto the console beside of me, laughing lightly.

"We're crashing!"

a few moments later...

We had completely spun out of control. The TARDIS was going haywire, and there was even a moment when the Doctor had nearly been thrown off the TARDIS altogether. I'd barely managed to pull him back in before the TARDIS jolted us around again. By the time we landed, the TARDIS was so out of whack, that when it came to a thud on the ground, it had landed on its side, sending the Doctor and I flying through the corridors.

There was so much chaos going on around us, and right when I thought it couldn't get any worse, I plunged deep down into water. My hands rapidly grabbed at the water around me as I struggled to pull myself up to the surface. Once I had, I quickly realized where the Doctor and I had ended up. With the TARDIS resting on its side, and all the fires and destruction that was happening on the inside, the gravity field the TARDIS had was failing. Paddling through the water I looked around desperately for the Doctor.

It took a few moments, but eventually I watched him breech the surface of the water. With his new face, he looked rather goofy as he started to paddle his way over to me. "Are you okay?" I asked, pushing my wet hair from my face. The Doctor gave me a smile before looking upwards. Of course, my gaze followed his. Looking through the doorway to the library which had suddenly become the pool room we had landed in. "How are we going to make it back up there?"
