SLIPPING THROUGH MY FINGERS✧・゚ FOUR
LUKE stood in the kitchen of his family's lake house, pouring himself a glass of water. " What's up Luke", Trevor greeted, the younger boy just humming at him. " Ok someone's in a slump. Is it because your totally hot ex girlfriend is next door, and isn't your girlfriend anymore?",
" Watch what you say, there is an age difference", Jack said entering the kitchen as well. Luke agreed, " But yes, Trev, that's his problem today".
" No it's not", Luke said shaking his head. The two older boys looked at each other, rolling their eyes. " It's not, why would that be my problem",
" Um I don't know because you guys are meant to be together?", Jack said, giving his little brother a look. Quinn came in from outside, " Right Quinn, Luke and Cris are meant to be?",
Quinn sighed, " As much as I hate to rub it in your face, Luke, Jack is right. But if it wasn't working in the time, it's ok. Don't make him regret his decision even more guys",
Luke nodded, " Yea, thank you. You guys aren't helping",
" So that is your problem!", Trevor said, " I knew it".
Jack shook his head at his friend, " Wouldn't take a genius to figure that one out, Z. Good try though",
" It's only day 3 Luke, you need to restrain yourself", Trevor suggested. Luke rolled his eyes at him, going outside where his friend Ethan was.
Ethan laughed, " So, you're coming to Michigan this year?", he asked the shorter girl in front of him.
Cristina had been outside helping her mother, and Ethan happened to be in the backyard of the Hughes residence with Quinn. They had met on the first day, but never really spoken. " Yep, and Jessica too",
" Let me know if you need help finding your classes, it's a pretty big campus", Ethan spoke, " And when you get there, you should come out with the guys and I. My girlfriend would definitely want to be friends with you",
The girl smiled, " Thanks, I might take you up on the offer". Ethan nodded, turning around to go inside, seeing Luke standing at the door.
" Wanna make pizza?", Luke asked, receiving a nod from his friend as he went inside. " Do you want some, Cris?",
Cristina shook her head, " I'm good, Luke, thanks though", she said giving him a quick smile before going back inside. Luke sighed, he knew it was gonna be a long summer for him.
Little did Luke know, Cristina was thinking the exact same thing. She had a problem, and it was that her ex boyfriend was gonna be next door to her all summer. Of course she missed him in that way, but she also just missed her best friend in general. They were inseparable, and that's why at first, she was hesitant about dating. She thought, maybe it would workout and nothing would change. But Luke had other plans, so it didn't work out, and every single thing changed between them afterwards.
" Just tell him you want to be friends again", Jessie said.
Cristina sighed, " We are friends. But it's not the same, it's never gonna be the same". Jessica gave her a quick hug, " I know it's not, but whatever. It was his choice",
" Would you get back with him?",
" Of course", Cristina admitted, " It's not like we broke up on bad terms, it just wasn't the right time. Or it wasn't for him, it was for me".
Jessica knew Luke was gonna talk with her about Cristina at some point, so she kept this in mind. She would never repeat anything Cristina said about Luke to him, but she would tell Cristina what Luke says. Not to somewhat ' expose' him, but so Cristina knows how he feels. Plus, they know how to play the game with Luke, so he thinks they don't tell each other things like that.
" I'll talk to him, see what he says", Jessie said, her best friend giving her a thumbs up before heading back outside.
