The door slowly creeps open and Hawk pokes his head in. "They don't even lock the door...." He thinks to himself. He slips in and closes the door as softly as he can. His feet turn into a smokey Blume and he begins to glide his way to the stairs. As he reaches the bottom of the stairway. "Hawk!" He almost jumps out of his skin. "Fuck me!" He leans up against the stairway holding his chest. A short girl walks into the light of the room, her head lowered. "Sorry." Mia meekly states. "You scared the hell out of me. What on earth are you doing here?" The short teen shrugs. "I couldn't go home. It's past midnight." Hawk raises an eyebrow. "Why would that stop you?" She shrugs. "Mom." She replies questioningly. Hawk walks closer to her and sees the three slashes across her face. He pauses. "Shit.... That looks painful." he rushes to a cupboard in the kitchen almost pulling the draw clean off its hinges. He grabs a bright blue cloth bag with a squid head on it and rushes to Mia, gently pushing her to the couch and sits her down. "This might hurt." "You mean it will...." Mia states. Hawk simply nods and opens up the cloth bag the instruments in it look to be of a medical nature. "They're dads.... So imma get my ass beat for using it." Hawk pulls out a syringe and an unmarked bottle. He stabs the syringe into the top of the bottle and draws out a purple liquid. "Hold still." Hawk grabs Mia and she looks away shutting her eyes tight. Hawk presses the tip of the needle into her neck and then stabs it in. Nothing happens. Mia looks back at Hawk. "That didn't.... hu....ugh!" She suddenly hunches over in pain holding her face. "Fuck! What the hell Hawk?! That hurt." She looks up at him. He watches her face closely. The wounds begin to scar up. Within a few more seconds her face is healed leaving three large scars across her face. "It worked..." He weakly gasps. Mia's face lights up in shock. "What do you mean it worked?!" Her face becomes deadly stern as she stares daggers at Hawk. He rubs the back of his neck and chuckles softly. "Haha... Ah, I knew it was gonna work just... Dad said it has different effects depending on the person's power." He looks up and mumbles. "I didn't know what effect it would have... " He raises his voice. "BUT the good news. It worked amazingly. You look great." Hawk smiles wide. Mia stands up and with a single finger points at him like an angry mother. "Don't you ever put strange things into me again or else." She takes a breath. "At least my face is still cute." Hawk again looks away quickly. She pouts. "My face is STILL cute, right?" "Yeah, yeah cutest ever, in fact, your cuter." He smiles with an oddly goofy look on his face. She lays onto the couch and sighs. "Can I stay...?" Hawk stands up and grabs a blanket from the cupboard and lays it over Mia. "Mia, my home is your home." She chuckles slightly. "Careful saying that to a demon." "If demons were more like you, we wouldn't have nearly half of the world's problems." Hawk retorts. Mia scoffs. "Hmph. Those are people doing that. Demons barely even register on bad" Hawk scratches his head. "Umm ok? They're demons Mia. They're not exactly known for doing good things." Mia's eyes snap to Hawk, staring with so much intensity that it nearly burns a hole through Hawk. "Being evil is having the ability to choose... A demon has to destroy and kill to stay alive. Only the truly, most powerful demons can even get remotely close to choosing..." Sadness washes over her eyes. "No one understands them. They just paint them as evil. Not all demons do bad things ya know?" Hawk taps her on the head gently. "Ok. I trust you" She smiles and the exhaustion washes over her, her eyes drop, and she begins to snore gently.
"Not a chance." A deep voice emits from a large man, while he looks at a man half his size. "Not kidding." The smaller man replies. Both begin to walk along the pathway. "How on the hell's earth, did he get out?" The smaller man sighs. "Didn't you pay attention to the report?" The large man shakes his head. "Goddammit Matthew. You're meant to read the reports. I'm not gonna be around forever to cover your ass. I'm twice your age." The large man stares out into the blue sky. "Yeah, I know but could you cover for this fool one more time." The smaller man chuckles. "Of course. Nightrider, right, is locked up real tight. Got all these fancy fucking chains, made by a so-called demon-hunting family up in some eastern euro shithole." "Get to the point Harry." The large man cuts in. "Ok, ok. It said a massive surge of demonic energy suddenly fired off somewhere in the city and bam! Just like that, he vanishes." Matthew looks down at Harry "Vanished? No trace?" Harry slaps his hands. "Just like that. The only clue being this surge of demonic energy. Thus us being sent out here." The two arrive at a wire link fence, that overlooks a destroyed warehouse. "So what on earth are we looking for?" Matthew questions. "Well simply put. Whatever set off that surge."
