Blaze grunted, tossing in her bed. It seemed to comfy to leave. She scrunched up her position till she was wrapped like a cat under the blankets. She purred contently. The warmth touched her arms and chest as she snuggled deeper. Then a sudden chill wave of air reached her and she opened her eyes to see her little sister with the blanket held up.
"Blaze you have to have your morning bath before I can get in the bath." Her little sister, Ellie, complained, throwing the blanket, "or you're not getting lunch, and I'll eat your lunch."
"Mhm, whatever." Blaze growled, but she knew she couldn't be mad at Ellie. She loved her deeply. She stretched her arms and legs, before rolling out of the bed. She walked to the bathroom, waving to her adoptive fathers. They'd moved to the countryside because of the shame her fathers experienced in the city. She had lived here since she was six and Ellie was 3. So, she'd hardly remember the city now. She just knew it was loud, and she hated loud. Well, especially loud cars, nothing else really. Her school was quite small, but big enough for her to get bullied for wearing her cat ears and tail. But, she felt comfortable in it and didn't really care until they hit her. She brushed her teeth, looking into the mirror. She sometimes forgot to brush her teeth. She never meant to, but she had a tough memory and never had motivation to look after herself. But recently she'd been better, and had went two months washing them everyday. She skipped out of the bathroom, walking back into her bedroom to change for school. She selected a cute hello kitty fit. It was some black joggers with a black hello kitty shirt and a black and pink jumper. Then she clipped her ears into her hair and put the tail on her. She had made a small hole in her trousers just big enough for the tail keychain to clip in at the back. She then put a hair band on her wrist and grabbed her phone. Her school was never strict about school uniform, because it was quite a poor school and they chose just to let the children wear what they had. Blaze then walked out to the living room, where her bag lay, packed the night before.
"Come on, honey." Her father called. Her dad smiled warmly as her and her father left.
"Have a great day Blaze! And you, Connor!" Her dad joked, patting her father on the back. Her father rolled his eyes and just kissed him goodbye. Then they drove off to the school. She walked out confidently, not caring that she no longer had friends. The kids stared and pointed, but she kept walking. She noticed Jake and Mason following her. She tried to walk a bit faster. They kept her pace. She spun into the corridor leading to the girls toilet, and the two must have realised. Mason grabbed her and pinned her against the locker, banging her head against the metal. She let out a shriek. Jake grabbed her neck, his hand tightening till she struggled to breathe. Jake grabbed a knife from his pocket, but then flicked it back in. He must've known that would've got him in worse trouble. Mason tapped his foot impatiently, aiming a punch. She tried to gasp from the pain, but she couldn't breathe at all. Jack loosened his grip, but kept her pinned. Mason and Jack began punching her till she was shaking with pain. She suddenly felt a rush of adrenaline, like it was her life on end. She clenched her fist and knocked Jake to the floor, so she could escape. Next to the girls toilet was the class she needed, so she quickly ran into it, bleeding and bruised. Her teacher, Mrs Smith, looked up slowly. Blaze looked at her feet.
"Blaze, was it those boys?" Mrs smith grumbled.
"Don't worry miss, I fell is all." Blaze lied, but to herself it was obvious that she didn't fall.
"Fell into their fists?" Mrs smith muttered. She walked out to the hallway and all Blaze heard was yelling and apologies. Blaze usually had to walk with Mrs smith out of school, so the boys couldn't attack her. She peeked out of the door.
"Mrs smith, I'm going to go to medical." She called out. Mrs smith nodded, walking with her down the corridor and nodding her a goodbye. Blaze smiled, walking into medical.
"The usual, Blaze?" Mrs asked.
"Well, it's a bit worse." Amber replied awkwardly.
The nurse whipped around to fetch some medical stuff.
"You'll have to go home. I'll call you father now." She mumbled.
