Walking through your palace in outworld labeled as the princess was a normal routine for you. You parents had gone into a deep state of illness, leaving you to fend for yourself. Of course the basic things you'd done before they fell sick. But with them gone, you were held accountable to their duties and taking place of their responsibilities. Luckily for you, everyone in the palace seemed to have liked you, because even as you were a higher ranked outworlder, you still held the same amount of respect to others that were even below you.

Now, as you substitute for your parents. You had to hold the tournament with the champions against earthrealm. Which had to bring the man you have met many times before, along with his other three members. Smoke, scorpion, and bi-Han. All you've known since the four of you were children. Not yet able to understand the tournament reasonings, and why it's held. Who knew you'd fall in love with one of those boys?

Hands held together behind your back, interlocked. Your back stood tall, and your chin high. Your chest mirroring with liu kang, with the three ninjas standing behind him.

"Good evening, lady y/n. I see your doing well for yourself. As for your parents..?" Liu kangs voice boomed, his stern yet calm tone laced in between.

"My parents are doing fine, thank you. Lord liu kang." Slowly nodding to him as your eyes glued with his white orbs.

"I see, very well then. As for the tournament. We will bring them over soon. And I expect you have yours?" Liu kang kept his smile on his face while asking.

"I have yet to gather them, but I will have them when your champions are here" your eyes wandered from liu kang to kuai liang. His eyes set on you as well, in his yellow Gi. His mask covered his lower half of his face. You missed when they all would have their masks off, it showed their youthful times together and they wouldn't have to take hold of these responsibilities as children.

"Ah, but I did forget, lady y/n. Your parents have written us about your.. protection." He cleared his throat, his demeanor shifted to slightly being nervous. Your brows narrowed in confusion, awaiting his answer. "Well.. they had wanted me to bring over one of my companions, meaning these three." He glanced over in their direction before continuing. "They wanted someone to watch over you.. while they were away for awhile." His hands held together now, looking up at you expecting you to blow up in your reaction.. which you did..

(KABOOM)

"What?! Hold on— my parents?!" Your fists clenched and you took a step forward. "For what?! I'm not dying over here! I needn't any reason to have a— have a bodyguard!" Liu kang took a deep sigh, stepping towards you and trying to calm your sudden change in mood.

"Lady y/n, I understand your anger.. but I can't disobey your parents orders.. I have chosen kuai liang to join you during your parents time away." His hand placed on your shoulder, giving you a small sympathetic smile before retracting his hand. Your lips formed a thin line of disapproval, looking down and sighing.

"Thank you, lord liu kang." With that, liu kang sent a gesture to kuai.
To which he took a step forward and flashed you a small nod. Leaving liu kang to turn his back and disperse with smoke and bi-han into a portal.

"Good evening, princess" having heard kuai liang a voice in such a long time but through his mask. It
Made you tense and awkward.

"Evening, kuai.." clearing your throat and turning to your side. Kuai followed beside you as you both walked back into your palace.

For a while you both continued to catch up and reminisce about things you both had done together as children along with his brothers. Around the time you were finished talking with him, it was already late. You'd realize you'd almost miss dinner. Asking kuai liang to wait in the banquet while you grabbed the food and sent it over to your parents, he nodded slowly while you went to the back of the kitchen room. The chefs had already whipped up a plate for them both as you thanked them and slowly made your way to your parents room. Now walking in, seeing their dull eyes, pale faces, and cracked lips. It all made you sick! You wish your parents had all just gotten better.

"Thank you, my love." Your mother sat up slowly from her bed. Giving you a weakened smile as you grabbed a small tray and set it in her lap, now setting the plate on it while you smiled. Your father was still sleeping, so you decided to set the plate on the table near his side of the bed and walked out. Quickly you ran back to the banquet only to find kuai liang had disappeared. You searched almost everywhere for him.

Finally, you went outside near the training area. There you saw kuai liang sat on the ground as he gazed up at the sky. Slowly strutting over to him, you carefully sat beside him bumping his arm as you did so. His eyes shifted to yours, and you both just sat in silence staring at each other for a brief moment.

"So this is where you ran off to? Jeez, you're always so. 'Adventurous'" you flashed him a smile while you chuckled before continuing. "I mean, id be fine with you just y'know.. disappearing for a bit before eating.. buttt.. that's not something I'm gonna allow you to do. Kuai." A soft sigh traveled up your throat.

"You caught me" he nervously chuckled. "Also— sorry, I just.. haven't been here in such a long time.. I mean— last time I've seen you is when we were what? Eight years old? The sky was something I always found myself gazing at." His eyes wandered back to the night sky.

"Well.. you can gaze at the sky after you eat kuai. Cmon let's go." Slowly you got up, grabbing his arm and not realizing how burly it was caught you off guard. Obviously, kuai noticed this and held a smirk on his face. Flexing his arm as the hard muscle filled the space in your hand. Instantly pulling back, you hit him playfully.

"Careful, y/n. Hit to hard and find out what happens" his tone more lower, but in a teasing way.

"That feels weird! Cut it out!" Your response caused him to laugh. Eventually you both made it into the banquet, quickly wanting to finish your food together. Which you did. Leaving yourselves back outside sitting on the ground together gazing back out on the black painted sky with white stars gleaming down at the two.

"Soo.. found yourself anyone yet?" You turned to him, his face seeming to heat up at the question.

"No.. y/n." He cleared his throat. "Why? Does it matter?"

"What the- no? I was just asking dummy." You giggled softly, now your body turned to him fully. Leaning into him slightly. "Do you want someone?" Your tone turned more provocative and flirtatious.

Kuai liang sent heat to his fingertips, reciprocating the flirtatious comment with only an action. His fingers slowly bringing warmth to the side of your face as you melted into his touch. (Literally/j)

"Maybe, princess." He smiled, leaning forward. He hadn't realized how close you two actually were before he could feel your breath against his. (Guys, you both took breath mints cz they teleported in your mouths, YOUR MOUTH NEVER SMELLS LIKE A SMELLY SMELL)

Slowly, he stole a kiss from you. Earning a whimper of disapproval from your throat. But you couldn't do much beside that. Instantly pulled into the touch, you never pushed away. In fact, you seemed to sink further into it as your arms slowly wrapped around the back of his neck. Still holding the kiss, his hands roamed your hair, stroking it softly. At this point he pulled away and took a moment to gaze into your eyes.

"Care to walk me back to my room?" Tilting your head slightly as you awaited his answer.

"I'll think about it.." he smiled, causing you to gasp.

"I don't believe I made myself clear. That's an order Mr kuai liang." After finishing that sentence, he had quickly got on his feet and pulled you into him. Tightly securing you in his arms. He positioned you to stand correctly, but being so close into his grasp was exhilarating. He gave you a soft kiss on your cheek before now walking you into your palace, now to your room. As you opened your door, he seemed to just stand there awkwardly.

"Oh get in here weirdo." Reaching out for his wrist, you pulled him into your room and closed the door behind you. Pushing him on the bed while you snuggled against him. His hand extending to reach you as he pulled you into a hug. His warm body illuminated off of you.

"Goodnight, princess.." he set a gentle kiss on your head.

"Goodnight, kuai." Closing your eyes, the warmth took over your body sending you into a daze, instantly hypnotized by the comfort. You were sent into sleep.

"I love you, y/n." Were the last words you've heard before you blacked out completely.
