Notes:

- As a magical lore change, technology and magic isn't as clashing in this as it is in Harry Potter. However the school would still have had rules regarding what students could take with them and use as most schools would. Cell phones/Mobile phones and Laptops would have been allowed in the school, but not in classrooms during class, they were more so used as a means of communicating home.

- Vampires being able to procreate, whilst it is possible in HP, it isn't in TVD. Whether this changes will depend if you guys want that to be a thing for Tansy and Damon later, way, way later on.

- I was also looking to settle a HP love interest for Tansy, obviously she is free and single by the time she goes to Mystic Falls so I kind of have it narrowed down between Draco (with them breaking up during or after the events of HPB) or Fred Weasley (with Fred being two years older, then their 'relationship' wouldn't have happened until at least her sixth year and then obviously his death ends their relationship)

......

After the war, Harry retreated to Grimmauld Place and a year later Tansy joined him after graduating from school, unlike Harry, she went back to do the year that they skipped out on. She wanted to finish her education. It probably wasn't needed given everything that they went through, but it gave her a year to consider her future, not that she really did. Since she's moved in here, Harry has been busy with his work with the Ministry and the Auror department, so Tansy actually spends a lot of her time alone in this big house. She's been cataloguing the various artefacts that litter the house and making sure they go to the right place. Dangerous items are sent to the Ministry, and non-dangerous items are boxed up and labelled. She and Harry have yet to decide what they are going to do with the house, but Tansy feels like something should be done. Especially considering the state of it. Plus she has little else to do. Working with the Aurors was Harry's want, not hers. She never really figured out what she wanted to do after she was done with school. With everything else going on around them, she never really thought about her future. She is starting to regret that mindset. Piles of books are stacked around her as she itemises and packs them away. Some are going to the Ministry, others she will burn, and whatever is left will go into storage. There are a lot of books here that are outdated and offensive. Some are very pureblood orientated with some very outdated ideology. Those books should never see the light of day again. Not after what they all went through. That mindset needs to be stamped out. She's hoping that it is the way the wizarding world is going now. After the war. But who knows how it is going to be?

The silence of the living room is broken by the sound of Tansy's mobile phone ringing from somewhere within the stacks and she glances up from the book in her hand to look around for it. Not many people call her. She has been a part of the wizarding world for eight years now, they rely on the use of owls for messages, but there are a few people, like her, that still cling to some muggle things. Those who were raised in that world or those who are very close to people who were.

Tansy groans as she pushes herself to her feet and moves to find the ringing device. If someone is calling her, it is likely important. She hums to herself as she brushes aside a couple of books where the phone had nestled itself. She picks up the phone and looks down at the screen. She doesn't recognise the number that is calling. She doesn't have that many saved contacts. She sighs a little, and debates with herself whether or not she should just let it ring out or if she should answer it. But curiosity has always gotten the better of her though. So she accepts the call before pressing it to her ear.

"Hello?" She asks, drawing out the question.

"Miss Potter" A voice on the other end of the line greets when Tansy picks up. She's surprised to hear that voice, mostly because she never thought she would again. No one expects to get a phone call from an old professor three months after graduating. Most people are lucky if they see them on the street in the years following. But Sheila Bennett isn't one she thought to hear or see again, she lives in America, and she barely has any input in the British wizarding world besides her teaching at Hogwarts. Another stigma in the wizarding world that is long overdue to be removed. The way that pure witches and wizards look at traditional witches is one of disdain and disgust. It's unwarranted.

"Professor Bennett?" She asks as she rubs her eyes, surprised to be hearing from her former professor.

"I'm sorry to bother you" Sheila starts. "Is it late there?" Tansy hums and nods to herself, but she can't sleep nowadays. Not for very long anyway.

"It's okay, I wasn't asleep" Tansy assures her. "Urm don't take this the wrong way, but why are you calling me?" Sheila is quiet for a moment before she answers.

"My granddaughter. She never showed any signs of magic.....until recently...I was hoping that you might be willing to come out here and help her through it"

"Why me?" Tansy asks her. Surely Sheila Bennett knows plenty of other people that would be better suited for something like this. Hermione comes to mind.

"I know that it's not the same but you came into your Ancient magic later on. If anyone understands what it is like to suddenly have it thrust upon them....." Tansy blinks as she processes the request. She is being asked to cross the pond to America to help a kid she doesn't know just because one of her favourite professors is asking her. It is an intriguing request. Sheila is a talented traditional witch, Tansy is sure that she could aid her granddaughter through this all by herself. "And I thought she might respond better to someone closer to her in age" Tansy hums a little in agreement. She is curious. Late bloomers are rare. It happens but not all that often. And with Sheila Bennett being one of the most powerful witches that Tansy has ever met, and a Traditional witch at that, for her granddaughter to be showing magic late is surprising.

"Give me a few days" Tansy offers as she runs her fingers through her hair. "I need to make arrangements, find some flights" She glances around the mess of the room and cringes. Tidy up. She needs to tidy up too, she won't leave this for Kreacher or Harry to sort through. She made a mess. Oh, but she is really interested in seeing where this goes as soon as possible.
