Note: So right back at the beginning of this story, I posted about Tansy having a HP love interest, between Fred and Draco, and it came out even. I am going to go with Draco (that way he can perhaps provide tension for Tansy and Damon at some point and if I do write through her Hogwarts years then Draco just fits better), and she and Fred could just have been close friends.

Tansy chooses an outfit of black, of course, it is the only color she really owns anymore, even more so after no longer needing her uniform. A black skirt, black top, black shoes, and her leather jacket. This is as fancy as she has with her. She leans against the outside wall of the Grill, typing away on her phone, replying to some texts from friends as she waits for Bonnie. The time difference is proving to be difficult for her friendships back home. Texting is the only way they can contact one another without exhausting an owl. She sends out the messages and then scrolls down to the last one she got from Harry. Two days ago now, with him reassuring her that he and Ginny are back on track. Which is a good sign. Tansy always liked them together. She turns her head slightly to listen to the sounds from inside of the Grill. There is music playing inside, but it's nothing too loud. Plenty of people coming and going. It seems like it is going to be a rather busy party. And here Tansy through this would be the usual teen party. Not that she went to many real parties. House parties were mostly contained and controlled and never at a bar. She thought the American drinking age was higher than it is in the UK, but Bonnie and her friends are sixteen or seventeen. Of course, as the Grill is more than just a bar, then drinking isn't a given here.

"Tansy!" Bonnie greets as she and Elena approach Tansy. Tansy waves at her, leaning up from the wall and tucking her phone away into her pocket. Elena slows and immediately sees what Bonnie had the first time she met Tansy. The likeness is uncanny. Tansy is older and there are differences, but it is still too close to be a coincidence. They look like they could be sisters.

"Hope this is party enough" Tansy offers. "I didn't exactly pack for an event" She explains as she motions down, implying her outfit.

"You look great," Bonnie assures her and then turns to her friend now behind her a few steps. "Elena, this is Tansy" Bonnie introduces. "Tansy, this is my best friend" Bonnie smiles warmly whilst also giving Elena a look regarding the similarities. Hoping that she sees it too. She does. It's the first thing she noticed. "Elena Gilbert" Bonnie beams brightly as she turns to Elena. "Tansy's been teaching me magic" Tansy snaps her head to Bonnie. Surprise and alarm flickering

"What was that?" Tansy asks her firmly. This can't be happening. She assumed that Bonnie understood the need for secrecy. American witches have a bloody history when it comes to witches, it is even taught as part of muggle history.

"Elena knows" Bonnie admits and Tansy gives her a look. "I told her"

"Why the fuck did you do that?" Tansy asks, a sliver of anger on her voice because Bonnie has just broken a very big law, but she didn't really know. Tansy hasn't gotten there yet, mostly because she's been researching the American laws and getting herself accustomed to them before she teaches Bonnie about them.

"Was I not meant to?"

"She's human, she's not allowed to know" Tansy points out. "We can get into serious trouble, Bonnie"

"I didn't know that" Bonnie defends. "You didn't teach me that"

"I just hadn't gotten around to it yet" Tansy counters and slides her hand into her sleeve only to remember that she hadn't brought her wand because it was supposed to be a muggle party. "I'll have to take her memory of this"

"Take my memories?" Elena asks, taking a step back from Tansy.

"Well, it is either that or Bonnie goes to witch prison and someone else removes your memories, either way, it is happening"

"I trust her," Bonnie defends. "She's not going to tell anyone" She steps closer to Tansy. "Witch prison?" She whispers in question.

"It's in New York, I think, I'm not totally educated on the American side of things" Tansy shrugs a little and looks at her. "Which is why I hadn't gone into American wizarding law yet, because I am still learning about it...."

"Please, Tansy" Bonnie begs. "She's my best friend, we don't have secrets" Tansy sighs, annoyed but moved. She understands why Bonnie has done it. How many times over the years has she spilled secrets to Hermione because she is her best friend? A lot. Tansy turns to Elena.

"Do you have magic in your family?" Tansy asks her. "Mom? Dad? Brother? Sister?" Elena shakes her head. "Aunt? Uncle?"

"I don't think so," Elena admits and frowns at Tansy.

"I'm trying to find a loophole," Tansy tells her. "Work with me here"

"I don't have anyone magical in my family" Elena points out. Tansy pulls a face. "Bonnie is like my sister though," Tansy hums.

"Blood and adopted lines are the only things that are counted...." Tansy sighs a little. "Look, my hands are tied. But you can have tonight, I don't have my wand so...." She shrugs a little and then turns to Bonnie. "Try not to spill this to anyone else..." Bonnie opens her mouth to respond but Tansy turns and heads towards the door to the Grill. "Fucking Merlin's swinging flaming tits" Tansy grumbles as she heads into the Grill, now with a deep desire to get absolutely stinking drunk. She was not expecting to have to be dealing with Bonnie breaking the secrecy act so quickly. They did mention when she met Bonnie that certain people were not allowed to know. She should have understood what that meant, perhaps Tansy should have set the laws out in front of her before anything else.
