I sighed as I got out of my car and shut the door, groaning as I adjusted my baseball bag on my shoulder.
"Hello, Seungcheol!" I looked over and smiled at my neighbor.
"Hello, Grandma Kim!" I grinned and went to her, grabbing her groceries and helping her carry them to her door.
"Oh, and tell that boy living with you I hope he feels better!" She said and I frowned as I handed the groceries to her.
"Boy? Chan? Was he sick?" I asked and she sighed.
"I stopped by earlier to give you a package that was mistakenly delivered to me. He seemed pretty dazed, like he was going to be sick! I left some soup at the front door to make him feel better, but I don't know if he ate it." She explained and I hummed.
"I'll check on him then. He's been in a pretty bad mood lately, so I'll be lucky if I can get five words in before he snaps at me!" I chuckled and she smiled, gently patting my cheek.
"Sometimes, sweetheart, those closest to us do things we don't understand until we take a step back and look at them in a different light." She said and I nodded, watching her go inside. I sighed and went home, frowning as I saw the soup still sitting on the front step. I grabbed the bowl and opened the door, stepping inside.
"Chan?!" I called and toed off my shoes, stepping further into the house and setting the bowl and my keys down on the counter.
"Chan, Grandma Kim left you some soup!" I called and let my bags drop to the ground, groaning as I rubbed my sore shoulder.
"Are you still in a pissed off mood, Kid?!" I yelled and went to his room, knocking on the door.
"Come on, please talk to me!" I called and sighed.
"Okay, I'm opening the door!" I said and opened the door, but I didn't see him inside. I hummed and went to Mingyu's old room, but he wasn't there either.
"Chan?!" I yelled and went to his bathroom, then my bedroom.
"Dino, seriously, where are you?!" I asked, beginning to wonder if maybe he wasn't even home. I eyed my bed, which was just as messy as I'd left it this morning, and went to leave when I saw the light on in my bathroom.
"There you are!" I chuckled and went to my bathroom, knocking on the door.
"You in there, Kid?!" I knocked, listening closely, but it was eerily quiet inside.
"Channie?!" I called and grabbed the doorknob, swallowing hard as I pushed the door open.
"Ch-Channie?!" I softly called him, looking around my bathroom. When I saw him laying on the floor by the toilet, an empty pill bottle beside him and three empty bottles of water, I felt like I'd just been hit in the chest with a baseball.
"CHAN!" I screamed and ran to him, grabbing him as I sobbed, holding him to my chest and fumbling for my phone.
"No! No, please!" I sobbed and called for an ambulance.
"This is-"
"I- My-my friend swallowed a bunch of-of pills!" I sobbed and set the phone down, putting it on speaker and opening Chan's mouth as the operator talked to me, getting the address.
"How long ago did he ingest the medicine, sir?"
"I don't know!" I sobbed and shoved two fingers in Chan's mouth, hoping to trigger his gag reflex.
"Come on, baby! Please, come on!" I begged as I shoved my fingers further in, the operator saying something that sounded like gibberish as Chan suddenly gagged and I held him tightly, watching him puke on the floor.
