Marlow's POV (Present Day)

"Thanks, I'll see you around." I said waving off my buddy James who lent me an extra helmet for Rue. I've known him since I started racing and he's a pretty chill guy.

I started walking back over to the motorcycles when I saw Rue with 2 other people standing by her. I took a few more steps to see their faces clearly and I stopped in my tracks when I realized who it was.

What the fuck!

Aaliyah, my ex and some other girl. I haven't seen Aaliyah in about 2 years. After everything that happened with me and Hazel at her apartment we didn't talk.

Then I got expelled from our school because of drugs so I just never saw her again.

I don't want to see her again either. I still think she cheated on me first since she was always so busy every time I wanted to hang out, but I don't know the real answer to that.

While I was in my thoughts Aaliyah made her way over to me with an annoyed look on her face.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" I asked before she could open her mouth.

"What am I doing here?-" She suddenly stopped talking and her expression somehow grew even angrier. "You shouldn't even be having an attitude with me Marlow."

It feels like I could be cut with her words with how harsh their coming out.

"You're the one that cheated and ruined our relationship and with my own roommate?" She scoffed and looked away. "I mean come on Marlow."

I can tell how hurt she still is about this whole thing. My expression dropped and words didn't come out of my mouth.

The only thing I could do was stare at her and I could see tears threatening to come out of her eyes.

Fuck. I hurt her this badly she still wants to cry after 2 years?

No, no. She shouldn't be the one crying not when she never answered my calls or spent time with me when I needed her the most.

There is no other explanation, she cheated first.

Right?

"Aaliyah-" I was quickly cut off by a very loud microphone.

"Ladies and Gents!! Our very special Motorcycle race will be starting in 5 minutes, so everyone get ready and definitely don't die!"

When the annoying microphone cut off Aaliyah had already fixed her whole composure and no longer looked sad.

She turned to face me and pointed a finger at my chest.

"Seriously. Fuck you Marlow, karma will come to bite you in the ass sooner or later." She said before walking off back to the other girl who was now away from Rue.

Rue's POV

Nova had walked away back to her bike and Aaliyah followed.

Jeez, what the fuck just went on?

Marlow stood still for awhile looking lost in thought before making her way back over to me.

She hopped back on the motorcycle without saying a word and she definitely looked off.

And shit I'm nosy as fuck I wanna know what's happening!

"So..what was that all about?" I said as I started adjusting the helmet back on my head.

Marlow sighed before responding, "Nothing, just old friends."

I guess if they were old friends something big must've went down. Even though I really wanna know more I wont push any further.

"Well don't be so down! We got a race to win right?" I exclaimed trying to lighten the mood.

"Yeah yeah, your right." Marlow shook her head before adjusting her on helmet in her head and revving up the engine.

The same obnoxious voice came loudly on the microphone, "Alright! Please all racers ride on to your designated stations and prepare to RIDEE!!"

I can tell this guy loves races because the energy is definitely there.

"We're gonna be going pretty fucking fast so just hold on real tight. If you need to stop just tap me 3 times." Marlow said turning to me and I could tell by her voice she was concerned.

"You still wanna do this?" I couldn't help but feel warm inside at the calm tone she uses with me.

"I understand, I'm all good Marlow." I said as I wrapped my arm around her waist tightly.

Marlow nodded as she began driving over to another area that had a big finish line.

It looked sloppy and probably spray painted but I guess it gets the job done.

I might be kinda stupid for attending a race only after my first ride on a motorcycle but YOLO I guess?

I had to spend some times pumping myself up thought because even though I sounded confident to Marlow I'm really fucking nervous.

I mean what if she takes the wrong turn and all of a sudden we go flying off the road? I mean this could very well be my last moments alive.

I got knocked out of my thoughts when I felt Marlow's hand on top of mine.

"Don't worry baby. You'll be alright, I got you. I've done races like this for so long I could be a professional...maybe." She said and as soon at that nickname came out of her mouth I could instantly feel my face heat up.

God. That fucking word will be the death of me.

I don't know how long I was quiet because the microphone man started talking again but I couldn't hear anything he was saying.

I'm too focused on why I feel so weird inside from just a single word.

"I uh- Thanks. I feel better." I stumbled over my words but atleast I got them out in the first place.

Marlow responded with a small "mhm" and tapped my hand twice before putting them back on the handles.

Soon this buzzing sound started playing. It kinda sounded like Mario Kart and the microphone man was counting down with the music.

"3!"

Marlow revved up her engine.

"2..!"

My hands tightened around her waist. What the fuck am I doing.?

"1!"

"GOO!!"

Immediately after that I almost screamed at the way Marlow zoomed off.

Fuck!!!

I constantly spat out curse word after curse word but I doubt Marlow could even hear me at the rate we were going.

I was squeezing her waist so hard I hope I don't leave any bruises.

I jammed my eyes shut It was stressful looking at the other bikers driving at godly speeds around us.

How fucking long is this track? Shit!

I know it's been a few months and me saying I wasn't continuing this story anymore but when i look back and see all the love this story has gotten I can't just leave you all hanging! I'm gonna try my best to push out chapters until August. I'll still try to post but I will have a busy schedule so I'll try to be consistent during June/July!! I hope you guys enjoy Marlow's and Rue's story love you all!!!
