16. DUI

Rue's POV

I was standing outside Marlow's truck and after I heard her say she wasn't planning on paying, I knew this meant we were gonna do something illegal.

Marlow walked over to me after she got out the truck and locked the doors.

"Alright, here's the game plan." She said standing directly in-front of me seeming overly excited.

"We go in there, you distract him. I steal some beers then we run the fuck out of there." Her eye brows were now raised hoping I would comply with her plan.

"And what are the chances we get caught then arrested?" I say tilting my head.

"Pfff, are you kidding? Like..0 percent, I do this all the time!" Marlow said and I wasn't even sure if she believed this herself.

Once she saw my unease she spat out, "Plus, your rich as hell I'm sure your daddy will break us out or some shit."

"Yea..that daddy isn't here right now." I say referring to the trip he's on. I wouldn't put it past him to get me out of jail even if he's out of town though.

"Well yeah...but all that doesn't matter, you got me!" ... "Pleaseee?" She exclaimed with a small grin.

Damn, she looks cute like that.

"Fine fine, but if we get caught I'm telling the cops you kidnapped me." I said now walking past Marlow and toward the store.

While I was walking I heard a small "yes!" from behind me that made me annoyingly smile.

Marlow quickly ran to my side. "Anyways, poker face on. I'll take care of everything else just keep the dude distracted."

I nodded looking up at her from the side. "Gotchu, don't get us caught though."

"I'll be like a ninja." Marlow said sending me a small wink before looking back straight ahead and opening the door for me.

And again these small acts make my face light up.

This is so weirddd!

I ignored what just happened and quickly walked inside before she could see the redness on my face.

The wind chimes at the door rung and Marlow slipped inside after me heading straight for the back.

I on the other hand walked towards the register area.

It smelled like straight cigarettes in here.

The guy behind the counter showed me a small smile and a nod before going back to whatever he was doing.

I guess he was writing something but I couldn't tell by the stuff on the counter covering his hands.

I looked around and saw security cameras that showed the entire store and ofc Marlow walking around.

So, I need to get him away from that. Shouldn't be hard, right?

I walked more into the store and spotted some cans that were stacked on each-other.

Perfect distraction!

I looked back towards the register and saw the guy still looking down.

I backed up towards the cans and quickly bumped into it making everything fall over.

I stumbled back a little to make it seem I did this on accident.

The loud crashing sound made the register make his way over.

"I'm so sorry! I guess I'm clumsy today." I mumbled out as he looked at the mess.

Now that he was closer to me I got a better look at him.
