Rue's POV

It's only a few seconds into the race, but I feel like I'm going right through hell no shortcuts.

Don't fuck up.

Just close your eyes and it'll be over soon.

I repeated these words in my head over and over again.

I think this is the scariest I've been in my whole life. I mean I can't even do rollercoasters, I'm fucking terrified of them.

You know what? Maybe it's not so bad.

I tried to calm myself down and I believed myself for a second I think.

I opened my eyes slightly and saw numerous trees around and of course Marlow in front of me and her long black hair across her back.

I remembered her words from earlier. She's got this, I trust her.

I took a deep breath and opened my eyes fully. The trees actually look cool with us passing by so fast. Plus the cool breeze.

Fuck, It actually isn't so bad.

But, those thoughts exited my mind as fast as they entered them once Marlow made a sharp turn. My guard was down and it really felt like I almost fell of this bike.

I can't do this shit anymore!

Marlow's POV

The race is actually going really fucking well. They host races like this frequently and I've been going ever since I was like 10.

I never participated in them till I got my bike, and I'm so glad. Surprisingly, I'm pretty popular.

Every race I've ever did I always made it 3rd place and higher. For the past few months nobody has beat me yet so I kind off hold a little record.

Right now it looks like I'm in first. I hope Rue is doing alright though she's been clutching onto me like an old lady holding her purse.

There's a turn coming up though. Something I'm worried about since you have to be careful, and I have Rue also. I've never done a race with someone not experience, so this is new.

I guess I'll try to turn gently? If that even makes sense. I don't wanna freak out Rue, but I also don't want to loose the race.

Fuck it though, Rue's more important.

I held the brakes slightly while making the turn and picked up my speed again.

Well that wasn't so hard, right?

I actually believed that myself for a second before I felt Rue tapping my stomach over and over.

Fuck.

I guess I wasn't as gentle as I intended.

I hesitated for just a second, but with Rue still tapping me I could tell she wasn't okay. I slowed down and drove to the side before stopping the bike fully.

I took off my helmet and turned to Rue noticing her trying to take off her helmet but her shaky hands wasn't going to do anything.

"That's alright I gotchu." I said trying to speak over the sounds of numerous motorcycles now passing by us.

Once I took her helmet off I put down the kickstand and got off the motorcycle putting both our helmets on the ground.

Before I could even say anything Rue started rambling. "I'm so sorry. I fucked up your race. I'm so stupid."

I sighed softly and put my arms around her bringing her into a hug. "I promise you didn't fuck anything up it's alright."

"I'm such a fuckup." Her voice turned shaky and I could immediately tell this wasn't just about the race.
