Delta Blaine, the warrior who is supposed to be guarding me runs his cloudy yellow eyes over my relaxed body. The human says he will only speak to the luna.
The warrior jumps as if he has been shocked and I attempt to hold back a snicker. I am sitting in a cell capable of holding the most violent of rogues and pack traitors. Silver is lined in the very mortar of the bricks of the cell. From my position, the lights cast my features in shadow. He is not able to follow the movement of my eyes. I watch him with an amused expression and move from my sitting position on the sagging cot to sitting with my knees drawn up to my chest, playing the part of a meek human very well.
Bullshit, Warren! She is our luna and very pregnant. WE ARE NOT GOING TO ALLOW HER NEAR THIS HUMAN!
The warrior brings his attention back to me, recovering whatever dignity the higher ups have stripped from him. He snarls and bares his teeth taking it out on his next target, me. He steps closer to the bars. He's careful not to touch them.
'The luna is not going to entertain a lowly, pathetic human.'
Internally, I scoff, then school my voice, putting a little whimper into it. 'Not even for Forest Bend?' I through in a little sniffle and fidget with the scraps of clothing left from the scrimmage.
He said something about Forest Bend. Does that mean anything?
The wolves are having a heated discussion, and something comes over the warrior's features. He looks deflated, like his very soul was trampled on. I snicker behind my knees. The alpha has stepped in.
Nearly half an hour passes. The inner dungeon doors groan to life, and the most foul, putrid smell hits my nostrils. She comes in cradling her blossoming belly with Alpha not far behind her. Our eyes lock. Hers have a calm thankfulness in them, like she was expecting someone from her deep past. Mine burn with a hatred nearly ten years long.
We have held eye contact for so long that I don't even register what has been said or ordered. The warrior comes in and shackles me to the wall. Even as he manhandles me, I do not break eye contact with her. She appears nervous, but her eyes read smug. She thinks she has the upper hand. I hang my head once the shackle around my neck is clasped. I smirk, not able to contain my excitement.
'Alpha,' she calls out gently. His large form moves closer into her side, a hand reaching out to caress their bastard. I breathe out slowly to keep myself from attacking her straight on. My body shakes with repressed anger. 'Don't worry about me. This human is clearly weak and frightened.'
They hear the chains rattle slightly. She smiles sweetly at him to hush any of his protests. 'Just wait in the hall here, if you are worried.' She looks back at me and smirks, her true nature showing. 'It will not take long to hear what this human has to say.'
Alpha sighs and gives her a kiss on the temple. 'Just in the hall.' He looks at me, his stare intense. 'The cell will be open.. Any wrong move, human, I will not hesitate to kill you.'
Another warrior comes in and brings a chair for her to sit. He, the others, and alpha flank the cell.
'You have captured my attention, human,' she begins, her cyan eyes flickering across my face looking for some sort of recognition. 'You mentioned Forest Bend.'
I can see her wolf try to surface as Forest Bend passes her lips. Now, it is my turn.
With my chin still on my chest, I smirk and look at her, exposing my natural color. She tenses up and clutches her protruding belly. Before she can react to call her backup, I snap my fingers. The cell door slams shut, and the electronics short.
