'And on this day, we are all gathered here to bestow upon Valerie Moone and Vincent Jones, a Medal of Valor for their bravery and for risking their lives to bring justice upon those families who have lost a member of their families forever. We commend you for your sense of bravery and loyalty to your word. Congratulations and many thanks to you both Miss Moone and Mister Jones, for everything that you have done for this community and for those who live here.' The president announced on the day we were supposed to receive the Medals of Valor. I bowed my head as the president put the medal around my neck and shook my hand and did the same with Vincent.

Everyone stood up and applauded us after we received the medals, and I scanned the crowd but obviously, my parents weren't there, but Ms Potts was.

'Well done, Valerie! I'm so proud of you!' She smiled and hugged me when the service was over.

'Thank you, Ms Potts. I'm just going to go talk to Vincent and his family for a bit.' I said and Ms Potts nodded.

'Hello, my darling.' Vincent smiled and kissed my cheek, which I still got flustered whenever he did that.

'Hi Vincent, I still can't believe that this is really happening.' I sighed and held his hand in my own.

'I know I can't believe it's all over.' He squeezed my hand and kissed me.
