The golden wolf

Chapter 2

I wake up with a start to see my younger sister tossing and turning in my arms.

"Via?" I ask quietly. I feel her wriggle around until she is facing me. I give her a small smile, she is too cute. With her long blonde hair and the most beautiful green eyes. And you can't forget her little nose.

I look completely different from my sister, in fact the only way you can tell we are related is the birth certificate in my bag and our green eyes. Apart from mine have a gold ring on the outside of my pupil. I have brown hair and a petite face, I stand 5'9 and have a slight tan.

"Coral I want something to eat" via states to me. I give her a smile.

"What's the ma-"

"Please" via cuts me off. I sigh and begin our decent back down to the ground.

After we were done eating I sit by the fire while via is making a daisy chain.

I watch as the flames dance a tango that only they know the moves to, as they swirl around eachother. They look so care free, just living until someone ends their life. I pour my water over the fire and watch as the flames dissipate into nothing but ashes.

I hear via's heart rate speed up and I'm next to her in seconds.

'What's wrong?'

"They are here" she whispers.

I look deep into the forest to see 3 werewolves walking toward us. They must be damn good trackers if they can sense my scent. I grab via and our bag of supplies and leg it. I hear the pounding of footsteps behind me as I run with in human speed, one of them is right on my tail and I lift up a blanket of dirt and dust behind me. Effectively blinding him. He falls to the ground and the second guy trips over the first.

Pathetic

I can smell another territory up ahead, if I can get there they won't follow. Well unless they want war. I think as I take a sharp left. I push myself harder as i near the boarder only to see a brown wolf standing there, like he was wating for me. I take another sharp right to find the 2 wolves I tripped over standing there. I turn round to find the final guy blocking my last exit. I snarl.

"We mean you no harm" one of the guys say to me. I don't move. They can hurt via if I'm not careful. I watch as one of the guys shift forwards slightly. I stay stalk still. I sense him look up to one of the guys. Cocky bastard. He moves his hand and I'm on him in seconds. I grab his arm and bend it back until I hear a horrid snap. He doubles over and I connect my knee to his face hearing another crack. Then I'm back in the middle of the circle they have created before anyone realizes what I just did.

A few seconds later I hear his cry of pain and feel the ground vibrate. I then hear his back connect to the earth. I smile at one of the guys.

"Well if you meant no harm they why are you testing me?" I question. I feel vibrations as one of the guys moves toward his friend opening an exit for me. I turn and sprint away from the crowd.

"Coral he is still following us." I hear via say.

'You know what that means' I say in her mind.

Via begins to fiddle around with her feet until they are securely in her stirrups. I smile and shift back into my beautiful wolf. I then sprint as fast as I can. I feel the forest around me better than I ever have before. Like I have a connection with everything around me. I cross into another packs boarder and smirk.

The wolf chasing me snorts and walks away. I shift back into my human form to find my cloths still in one peice. Wired. I feel via grip onto my shoulders tightly and I smile.

"Hey via, they are gone." I say. I can't contain my smile. Via sighs.

"Coral we have to join a pack." Coral says quietly. I sigh.

"Via, I am a rouge. They won't want me. Throw me in the cells because they think I'm a threat." I say to her.

"What if you stand at the boarder. Wait for patrol then ask? Then if the don't want to the boarder is just a little ways."

I give her a smile. " I swear you are too smart for an 8 year old." Via giggles and we walk hand in hand toward the road.

She did say to join a pack, but I'm smart enough to know that none of the packs here want me to join them. So we are gunna go on a little road trip.

I look out of the window of the taxi to the outside world. Where I used to be accepted. Where I went to school and was working toward becoming an engineer. I watch as small droplets of water fall onto the window. The trees begin to sway, the leaves clinging onto the branches for as long as they can. Then they let go, swirling round as the wind guides them to their next stop. We come out of the forest and enter the small village boarder.

"Can you drop us here please" I say and the driver smiles. After I pay the guy grab my stuff and get out of the car, with via in tow, I march into the forest. I sniff and smell the boarder about 50 meters away. I start to take the stirrups out of my bag and tie them on to the loose belt wrapped around my hips. I give the bag to via and she hops onto my back.

I wonder if this will work. What If they hurt via? Should I leave her and go get her if they say I can join? But would that be suspicious? With all these questions whizzing through me head I don't notice I'm already at the boarder. I look around and sigh.

"You ready via?" I ask her. I can feel via nod.

'Well here goes nothing.' my wolf says

I hope this works. I reply and step over the boarder.

Well you expect the big clash of battle to start. Well there was silence. Nothing. This pack seems cocky. Either this is a strong pack, or there is a celebration going on. I feel vibrations of wolves paws on the ground. Well nevermind then. I sigh and hear the bushes Russell around me.

"I don't want to hurt anyone." I say calmly. Knowing fair well they can hear me. " I would like to join this pack... If that is not acceptable I will leave imideately." I say, trying to hide the nervousness in my voice. I watch a man maybe a year older than me emerge from the bushes. Just in shorts showing his abs. I feel power radiate power of him.

'Beta' my wolf ansers my question.

I look up at him as he stares intently at me.

"And how can we trust you? for all we know you could want to kill the whole pack from the inside out while we aren't looking."

I stare at him and sigh adjusting via on my back. "You will just have to take my word for it." I say calmly and he growls. I hear risking behind me. I turn around quickly to find 2 of his pack members standing behind me.

I feel weight get lifted off my back. Turning round I see the beta holding via, hand clamped around her mouth. My eyes widen, he smirks.

"You should know we have a bad reputation from rouges. We can't tolerate them. We kill all rouges we find to save other packs the trouble doing it themselves, but I will talk to the alpha." The beta says. I look at him and cast my eyes to the floor.

I knew it! He is gunna hurt her. I slowly put my hands behind my back, crossing over my wrists. The beta rases an eyebrow at me and nods behind me. I feel rope being tied around my wrists. I close my eyes and get pushed forward to where I would presume was the 'base'.

Well here goes nothing.
