Chapter 4

I watch as my little sister begins to thrash around in her bed covers. Her body tangling up with the blankets. I feel helpless as via begins to scream. She jumps up and swings her army around me and sobs into my shirt.

I haven't left her room for 3 days. Via won't go anywhere without me. I would ask chase to bring me food and he would try his best to comfort me. But doing so is like yelling at a brick wall to sprout legs and walk away.

It feels horrible that there is nothing you can do to help someone who is in need. That's how I feel.

I feel via slowly relax in my arms and I open my mind to her. I show her a happy world where mum is still with us and there is no such thing as strange. That we are all normal. Well... That's never the case.

I sigh and put her back to bed and close off my mind to her, leaving her to create her own story through her dreams.

I hear heavy foot steps outside the door and see the knob turn. I watch the door creak open and chase poke his head out.

"Coral, you need to come out. You are going to school tomorrow, also you need to get cloths and other girl things..." Chase states rubbing the back of his neck akwardly. I smirk at him.

"So what's 'girly things' will I need?" I question, tourtureing him further.

"Heh um y-you know s-tuff like.... Pencils, yes pencils-" I cut off his rant bursting into laughter. I clutch into my stomach while trying to keep tears at bay. Chase gives me a harsh glare.

"You tell no one." Chase says calmly. I smirk picking up the recording device I have in my poker ant switching to recording button off. Chase states at me blankly and I smile. I stand up and walk toward him.

" one step ahead of you" I say walking past him and running down the hall, only to bump into a pretty ginger haired girl with green eyes and freckles covering her nose and just under her eyes.

"I'm so sorry I didn't see you there." I apologize. The girl smiles.

"No worries, I'm Tiffany but you can call me tiff... And you are?"

"Coral" I reply grabing her outstretched hand and pulling myself up.

The next day

I grip the handles of my bag tighter as I approach the school entrance with tiff at my side. I hope people will like me, well it has been awhile since I last went to school. But that doesn't mean I stole a few books from the library to keep on track. Via will also be going to school today, I hope she will be okay. With the nightmares and all.

Me and tiff walk through the doors and I smile. No one has noticed me yet... This is good!

" hey tiff can you take me to the office please?" I ask and she smiles and leads me to it. We talk about random crap that doesn't matter then before I knew it I was at my first class. Art, not too bad.

I am sitting at the back of the history room watching the clock intently waiting for the bell to go off. I sigh and reach for via's mind to see if she is doing okay.

She is sting in the living room watching tv and has home work in her hand. I smile and retract from her mind.

BRIIIIINNNGGGGGG

I sigh and am out the door.

I walk down the quickly crowding halls and find my locker and grab my stuff. I turn around only to walk into a brick wall.

I look up to find a grinning chase staring at me. I give him a small smile as he grabs my hand sending sparks flying up my arm.

"How was school?" Chase asks politely, we walk out the doors of school.

"Yeah alright... I don't think I was noticed so that was a good sign...?" I ask him.

Not going to school for a couple years has gotten to me okay?

Chase chuckles lightly. " not sure babe, whatever floats your boat"

I stare at him, slightly annoyed at the pet name, open the door and jump into the car. I cross my arms in an attempt to act angry, let me highlight, attempt.

Chase looks over at me and smiles, I give him a tiny smile in return. And with that he backs out of his spot and drives back to the pack house.
