"Shit shit shit shit!" A girl curses quickly as she runs through a dark and cluttered forest.
"You can't run from me sweetheart!" A lower female voice says in the close distance. The tree right next to the girl getting shot.
A jet black haired girl can be seen sprinting through the various trees in desperation for life. Her black hair is long and voluminous with barely noticeable waves at the end. Her eyes are big with a hazel color and long eyelashes.
She adorns a dirty ripped up outfit resembling that of a 1920s old money descendant. A short plain cream dress falling right above her knees, the top covered by an expensive looking fuzzy shawl. Accessorized with short gloves that are covered in dirt and blood. She wears kitten heels that are currently making it hard for her to escape.
She continues sprinting through the forest with the woman trailing behind her taunting her. "You think you can get away from me, sweetie?"
The girls now lost. She runs before running into a small white bat ramming straight into her face. She trips up and slips a bit as the bat hits the ground passed out. She pauses before hearing the woman behind her. She decides to run for it but doesn't get far. Gruesomely, she stepped on the passed out bat, the heel of her shoe digging into its stomach, killing it. Karma got the best of her as she slipped on its morbid dead body. She falls to the ground hitting her head on a rock as she lands.
She hears a ringing as her vision goes blurry, trying to get up.
Before she can regain her senses, someone steps on her chest, effectively keeping her down.
She looks up to see the lady who had previously been chasing her. The woman stares down with a grimace.
"I can't believe you're the one who killed her."
"Your daughter was a dirty whore who deserved every second of pain I gave her."
The woman pushed down with her heeled foot, making it harder for the girl to breath.
"Her hand boiled in water, the skin peeled off her fingers. Her toes cut off. Her ears cut off! She was left hanging in that shed!" The woman yelled.
"Yet she still didn't get what she deserved." The girl strains out.
"What else could you have done?"
"I had a new electric stove I could've cooked her skin with."
The lady stepped down harder. She looks to the side to the the now dead bat with its guts spilling out its mouth from beside them.
"Pathetic, getting taken down by a bat."
"Pathetic that the only reason you got me is because of that stupid bat."
"Go to hell."
"I'll tell her you said hi"
The girl was shot right in the heart.
————
The girl woke up groggily, looking up to only see dark grey clouds and a blood red sky.
"So there is an afterlife."
She looks around to see demons and all sorts off odd creatures.
She can't really tell what to feel in the moment. The only thought on her mind is frustration.
That stupid fucking bat
She looks down at her hands, confused at what she can tell to be a new appearance.
She looks a bit as she did before her death. Long, Silky, black hair with very light wispy bangs. Same eye shape and nose. The bigger differences being the whites of her eyes now replaced with black, and her irises being completely white, her pupils the only things that stayed the same. Her skin now a lot paler, almost white. From the top of her head Can be seen to medium sized white ears, resembling that of a bat, along with the a pair of white bat wings from behind her.
She took the form of a white bat.
"Now that's just cruel."
She had the same clothes on from when she died, still tattered up and torn but now, adorning a bullet hole right above where her heart would be.
———
"3 months."
"Only 3 months since you've died?" A boutique owner exclaims.
"Only three." The white eared woman said. She now adorns a much more classy and tasteful looking outfit than from before. An off the shoulder, cream color, satin dress. The satin hugs her body comfortably. The waist of the dress fit perfectly to her body. She wears a gold necklace that reaches down to her collar bone. To complete her outfit, she holds a fuzzy shawl over her shoulders, one that looks oddly similar to the one she had before her death.
"There's no way." The woman across from her said. "Ametrida, there's no possible way for a sinner to rise to power that quickly."
"Maybe if your a normal sinner." Ametrida smirks. "I've always had a way with others. Swaying them to my power is not a difficult feat. What difficult is getting them to not hate me for eternity." She jokes taking a sip of the tea in front of her.
"Does anyone know that you've only died 3 months ago?" The owner questions.
"Only you and me." Ametrida nods, before a nefarious smile creeps onto her face. "And a few souls sworn to secrecy."
"I'm honored."
"We'll not everyone is capable of keeping me happy." She says standing up and fixing her shawl. "Thank you again, darling. You're the only one I trust to keep my shawl beautiful. It's my favorite one you know, I don't know what I would do if I lost it."
"Always here to help." The owner smiles warmly.
"See you soon, dear!" Ametrida chirps happily as she walks out the door of the building.
