This evening was hell. Attempting to get seven kids to the airport on time and the plane. Everybody wanted to sleep all day since we already packed the cars and everything. Luckily, Angel and Ellie met us there. Ellie had to pick Destiny up from her aunts, and then Angel helped me get the boys in and Hazel. Speaking of Hazel...
I looked around for her and didn't see her. I didn't see Leo either, so I called him.
-Hey, you got Hazel with you?
-Uhh, I do not.
-Oh, fuck.
-Why, is she not with you guys?
-I haven't found her yet. Everyone else is gone, so I assumed you were with her.
-Nah, I'm getting food.
-Alright, well, hurry up because the plane leaves in an hour, and from what I've heard, Alex will be on the flight. He just didn't check in with us.
-Alright, I will hurry and look for Hazel. Love ya.
-I love ya.
I look around the airport in a desperate attempt to find her. After searching for 30 minutes, and still no sign of her, I text the family group chat.

Well, now, I know where she is.
I gather around with the kids as we board. Everybody is scattered with at least one other person. I'm in the middle seat with Hazel on the window seat. I notice Alex two rows behind us. I put in my headphones and help Hazel connect hers. As we wait for us to take off we realize no one has taken the aisle seat. I shrug and decide to wait to see if anybody sits there.
The flight is around a five-hour flight. As we take off I hold Hazel's hand because I know she's scared to fly. The captain announces they're going to lower the lights for us to sleep. We own this plane but let it work as normal since we don't normally fly. Still holding Hazel's hand, I walk her to the bedroom suite. I lay her on the bed before getting on, next to her, and turning on the TV for us to sleep.
30 minutes later...
I woke up after a half-hour nap and turned over to see Hazel lying on her back staring at the ceiling. When she notices I'm awake she starts to whimper.
-Oh fuck.
I reach over to hold her and at first, she flinches back but slowly lets me hold her.
-Baby, what's wrong?
She just shakes her head and starts crying in my chest. I'm so confused. What the hell happened when I was asleep?
