It's been about 7 months since Harry bought the building from Mark. We all throw down on it, but everything is in his name. He was the one with thousands saved and was able to get a loan without a co-signer. My once-homeless boyfriend at least has good credit. And now a home.We turned the upstairs into one big open floor plan, combining the two living rooms. By we, I mean Liam, Niall and Aubrey. It looks a little silly, because there are 2 kitchens in one big room, but that honestly comes in handy. We owe Liam big time for setting Kris and Aubrey up. They are going strong.
Aubrey's only condition on moving in when Kris asked, was that the other apartment's bathroom would be the girl's bathroom. That was fine with us. She's quite amazing. She cooks like a grandmother. With love and care and the freshest ingredients.
Most of the time, on most weeknights anyway, the girls keep to themselves in their bedroom. Aubrey brought her queen size bed and her couch from her apartment. We've been accumulating more furniture, and other household items naturally, as time goes by.
Harry and I tend to sleep in the bed with Niall and Liam. Almost every night. We ended up putting the other mattress in the basement so we had more wiggle room in the boys room.
If either couple, or any variation of us wants the king to ourselves, none of us have a problem sharing the huge, comfy black sectional for a night. It rarely happens.
I surprised Harry with a date night last month. I got a huge hotel suite. A really nice one with a jacuzzi tub. I went early and I set up some twinkle lights in the bedroom and bathroom. I put an obnoxious amount of rose petals and candles everywhere. Wine. Edibles. Room service. Heaven. He was absolutely smitten. He deserves the whole world.
We're all saving so much money we're able to do more, and nicer things. If you can believe this, we all have a joint savings account. Kris manages it mostly, but no one has to put anything in. It's not mandatory or anything. But we all contribute. $20 here, $50 there. It adds up quick between 6. We've already got a sizable rainy day fund. This...works. Well. I love it.
The huge living room is actually really cool. One kitchen is in the front left corner, and the other in the far right, diagonal from it.
We were a little worried at first, that this could be a tight squeeze, but it's not the case at all. There are plenty of places to escape to if you need a few minutes alone (I sure do, a lot). But I also get quite a bit of alone time when Harry and Kris are downstairs working, and Niall and Liam head off to work around the same time. Liam works weird hours as a maintenance guy for several different companies.
Aubrey and I actually spend quite a bit of time together. We both work from home. She likes to cook for all of us while she half-pays attention to her meetings. It doesn't bother me at all, or I'd go work in the bedroom. It's nice, actually. She's really cool. She's been all over the world and has so many cool stories. I haven't been anywhere.
After the whole date night debacle, things have been...perfect. We all get along well. We bicker and have had some small disagreements between us, but that's to be expected. We always talk it through together. The 6 of us. After we've fucked it out, of course.
We all kind of took on our own little roles in the house. I like to clean. I don't mind doing it, and this bunch is fucking sloppy, so I nearly always have something to keep me busy. Kris keeps the place stocked with food for Aubrey to cook. She helps her from time to time, but it's not her favorite thing to do. She gives us all free haircuts, so we forgive her.
Niall and Liam are both our 'handy men'. Aubrey wanted to fight for that title, but neither of them can cook. She still helps them put some furniture together, or hang a shelf up, from time to time. Liam saves us beaucoup bucks on maintenance. He's good with plumbing, electric, and mechanical (he saved my poor car from becoming scrap metal).
