Be My Eyes

Behind-

"A friend?" She said seemingly confused.

"Uh.. Yes Otto she is a friend" I said quickly, not trying to get Otto worried.

"Well what is your name, friend?" He asked the lady. He sits on the ground in front of us and let's his tail sway behind him.

"Oooo, friend! Where friend!" Benny comes running up and slamming straight into Otto's back.

Benny falls to the ground dramatically, acting as if he had died. He opens his eyes only a crack and jumps back on his paws when he sees the girl.

Benny runs up to her, right in front of her feet. "Hi, I'm Benny. What's your name?" He says all excited like.

The women crouched down and scratched his chin. "My name is Kera, it is a pleasure to meet you Benny." She smiles softly at him.

I gaze over at her and I watch her smile. I know that it might be slightly creepy that I am just looking at her, but I can't help myself.

I hear Otto chuckle, well chuckle as much as a cat can. I look over at him and he's looking at me. 

I realize that he was watching me look at Kera. I think he might know that I find her pretty. 

I bring Kera to the couch and I start for the kitchen, placing the mushroom spores in my cauldron on my way.

I grab Kera some food along with Otto and Benny's food. I get Kera an apple since I don't have much food to begin with.

I give the boys their food and sit next to Kera on the couch. I hand her the apple. "I know it isn't much but I hope this will be enough to suffice." 

She takes the apple hesitantly, slowly taking a bite. She starts to relax as she eats the apple. I smile as I see her giving me a little more trust. 

I hear rustling outside but I ignore it, thinking it is only an animal. I try to go back to the potion but the rustling has me getting more worried.

I don't know why exactly I had this wary feeling about it. I just felt off from the why they were moving in front of the window.

I try to push these thoughts out of my brain. 'There is no way the men from before found us. There is a protective barrier around this building. How could they have figured that we were here.'

The thoughts wouldn't leave. They just kept spiraling through my head causing me to get more and more paranoid.

Kera freezes as she has the apple in her mouth. She swallows and turns to me. 

"someone is here." She whispers to me, I start to get worried as I collect Otto and Benny and put them on my shoulders.

I grab Kera's hand and a few bottles of my potion. I toss my hanging cloak over Kera's shoulders and I cover her head with the hood.

I lead all of us to the back door calmly. I take us out of the house and into the forest that is surrounding it.

I let go of Kera's hand and we all circle around the house, trying to see who is here. We get to the front of the house and we don't see anyone.

Kera tries to say something but I stop her so we don't get caught. She pulls off my hand.
