"Behind-"

She got cut off by arms wrapping around her throat. I put my hand on my potion bottles as Otto and Benny yelled at the person to let go, but they only heard hissing.

When I turned I saw Kera shaking and the men standing behind her. One of the men had a hold on her throat and the other was holding a sword pointed at me.

I narrowed my eyes at the men and Kept my gaze on the man that was holding Kera.

"Let her go." I said sternly and with anger dripping from my voice.

Kera looked over at me with terror in her eyes. She seemed like she wanted to say something but she couldn't make out the words.

The men held their grip.

I muttered a spell under my breath and glanced at the sword. The sword broke in two, straight down the middle.

"Let. Her. Go." I held my gaze with the man that was holding Kera.

He looked at me, then at the broken sword, then at me again. He released Kera and put his hand on the handle of his blade.

I pulled Kera towards me and kept her to my side. She grabbed onto my arm and stayed close to me.

She soon got her composure and stood tall again. She stepped in front of me and glared at the men.

Roots started growing around their feet, wrapping around their legs. She held them in place with the roots.

She turned around and faced me again.

"Let's go." She commanded as she started to walk away.

I trailed after her. "Where are we going?" I asked.

"Away from them." She said in frustration.

I stayed close behind her, following her every foot step.

"We can't go back to my hut. They know where it is located now." I stated.

"I can't stay in these woods either. People have gotten too close too many times." Kera says still walking ahead.

I looked over at Otto and Benny. They both shook their head, not knowing what to do next. I continued to walk behind Kera as I thought about what we could do.

"What if we stayed in the village for a little while. Just until we are finished with making a new home." I suggested.

She turned to me, stopping in her tracks.

"Scarlet, I understand that you could pass in there with no problem. But I have to stay away from that village. Everyone in that village knows about the 'forest monster'." She snapped back.

"I know, but I could make a potion to make you look different. And it is only for a short amount of time." I replied.

"That will cause me to be someone I'm not. I am not willing to change my appearance just to not get attacked." She said sternly.

"What if I make it so you still look like you, but others see a different version of you?" I suggest.

"A different version of me?" She questioned.

"Yes. Like what you would look like if you looked more human. I would still see you as you and you would still see you as you." I started to ramble.

She sighed."Okay, I'll do it." she said in defeat.

"really!?" I said sort of surprised.

"If I said that I'd do it, then I'll do it. Just don't give me enough time to rethink." She relied.

"Let's go."
