When he left the house, the entire house became quiet. My brother sat down with a sigh. I had so many questions and emotions running through my mind.

I was about to speak up, but then I thought it would be better if I stayed silent. I slowly went upstairs and resumed what I was doing before completing my last prayer of the day.

After 5 minutes, I was lying on my bed, feeling cozy and warm. I picked up my phone from the table and saw that I had 6 notifications. I quickly opened them and just skimmed through the things I had missed.

Aisha:do you guys wanna go to the amusement park?

Layla:OMG yes!!

Zainab: i wanna sleep

Aisha:shut up and get ur bum up because you're gonna come drive with us

Zainab:i might puke

Layla:excuses

I get up and dress myself because I know I'm going to be their next target to go to the amusement park

even if I say no, they will always find a way.

I haven't worn black for a long time, so I took out a two-piece jilbab and a brown cardigan that reached up to my ankles. I absolutely adore those two colors together. To top it off, I wrapped a keffiyeh around my neck.

Me:do you guys need a drive?

I wouldn't be surprised if they did. They love my car more than theirs, or they're always low on gas.

Like, will you stop driving late at night around 4:30 a.m? You're gonna get into a car accident.I sigh. I'm always the worried mother in this group.

But at least one of us was there for each other. I grabbed my water bottle and car key before heading downstairs. "Where are you going?" I heard Aamir say from the kitchen. "Out with friends." He just nods and continues typing on his phone, probably his wife telling him she will be home late.

She was a nurse after all.I take a deep breath when I stand there in the dark night. It was around 7, but it was already turning dark.

Why didn't I think so many people would be here? The loud voices of people filled my ears and the music was blasting everywhere. I put on my headphones. I'm so grateful I brought these. I would have gotten a headache anytime soon.
