Fin had been staring at the date on Yuki's calendar for the last few minutes. November 28th 2003. It was such a cruel joke. She had been in this world for less than a week, and the events of Death Note were scheduled to take place. She hoped Light did get the Death Note this time around, but if Light didn't get the notebook.

Her pale hands shook and knotted themselves in her blue bob. She had no idea what to do. If Light didn't get the Death Note, then the new Kira would probably continue to slaughter innocent people. She couldn't just stand by and let that happen. But if she interfered, she risked altering the course of history and dooming everyone she cared about. Yuki, Kenji, hell, even her boss.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. There had to be some way to make things right. Some way to stop this endless cycle of death and suffering.

But how?

What could she possibly do?

The weight of responsibility was crushing her. She felt as if she were standing on the edge of a cliff, teetering back and forth between two impossible choices.

Josephine wasn't a God. It wasn't the bluette's fault she knew things about the original timeline of this world.

Her twilight eyes glanced back at the clock on Yuki's bedside table.

6:45 pm.

Light should already be in possession of the Death Note by now. There was no point in dwelling on what was to come. It had already happened once before.

Fin's inner voice nagged within the depths of her mind. 'You weren't here last time.'

She stood up from Yuki's bed, her legs shaking, as she took a step away from the calendar. The weight of the situation felt as if it were pressing down on her chest, making it difficult to breathe. Fin calmed her breathing down as best she could before she tied her apron around her waist.

It was time to go to work. Fin headed downstairs to the bar to see Yuki bussing tables and Kenji pouring shots. Just as the blue haired woman was about to get behind the bar her boss comes up to her.

"Hey kid, someone booked the function room and you will be running it." Fin grows paler than normal.

"What about Yuki, she's better with the function stuff." Fin spoke trying not to sound like a whiny brat but it was the truth.

Her boss, the middle aged man with a kind smile, just shrugged his broad shoulders. "She's our fastest waitress, and it's going to be a very busy Friday night."

Fin bit her bottom lip, feeling the urge to protest. But she knew there was no point. She couldn't risk putting her living situation in danger.

With a nod, she accepted the task. "Alright, I'll do my best."

Her stomach twisted into knots as she made her way to the function room. She tried to remind herself that she had experience running things, but it was hard not to feel overwhelmed. The room was already set up, with a long table at the head and several smaller ones scattered about.
