I look away and then the woman speaks again. "If you have something to resolve, why not come inside and I'll help? Alecto, will you be joining us? No well I wouldn't think you would. She won't bother you as long as your with me. But it isn't as though she'll leave either, not if it means reporting that she failed to retrieve the son of Poseidon." 'Me?'
"How did you–" I ask. "A forbidden child has been claimed. How long did you think that secret would keep? It's a pleasure to meet you son of Poseidon. I'm Medusa." She says smiling. Medusa? 'Oh Shoot.'
I wanna look up but then I see Y/n trying to stop me, she opens her mouth to say something but stops herself... 'Why?' "Percy don't. She's a monster." Annabeth tells me. "We all choose who we make our monsters, but right now, that one wants to tear you limb from limb...And I'm offering you lunch.The choice is yours." Medusa said and after that, she walks away.
"I think we can trust her." I say.
Annabeth: "What?"
Grover: "Dude!"
Y/n just frowns
"I can't explain it, I just... My mom used to tell me her story. And the point was always that she isn't what people think. And I definitely trust my mom. So I'm going in. You guys do whatever you want." I tell them. "I'm going too. I trust you're mom too and if that's what she told you, I believe her." Grover said "Thanks man.." I say and then I look at the girls. 'Annabeth definitely didn't wanna come which I understand cause Athena is her mom but Y/n..I just couldn't read her. It's so weird the one moment she makes you read her so you know exactly what she wants to say and the other moment it's just impossible to read her.' "Y/n...?" I say. She looks at me and I look at her with just a little bit off hope. She shakes her head no. 'What did I think? Ofcourse she isn't gonna trust me'. "Okay..." I say as me and Grover walk away. We walk into her house and see the table full of delicious stuff. "You must be hungry. I left snacks on the table while I get something proper going." Medusa says from the kitchen. "You think it's safe to eat?" I whisper to Grover. "Percy, I'm not gonna lie to you, I'm really hungry, and I'm ready to take that chance." Grover responds. I nod and then see Annabeth. "Thanks for coming." I tell her. "This isn't the same for me as it is for you." she tells us. "Yeah we get that but...Y/n didn't wanna come?" Grover asked. Then I realized she wasn't there. "No...Her expression said she'd rather stay with Alecto and pertified people then come inside with you..." she just said. 'Ow...Yeah, that hurts, like really bad..' "You know I still really don't like it here." she says after a while. "Why? You're concerned I would hold a grudge against you simply because you are a daughter of Athena? You shouldn't be. We're not our parents after all. And you and I might have more in common than you think...Please sit and eat" Medusa says. Me and Grover sit down but Annabeth doesn't.
"So you're not a monster, what are you then?" I ask the cursed woman. "A survivor." she exclaims. "You must be a little more than that. There's a Fury out there that seems terrified of you." I say. "Because she knows what I think of her. I don't like bullies. When one shows up at my doorstep, they end up spending a lot more time there than they planned for. The gift the gods gave me is that I cannot be bullied anymore." She says sitting down. "What my mother did to you wasn't a gift, it was a curse." Annabeth tells her.'What's with the attitude? I think it's pretty cool she sees her weaknesses as a gift'. "You're loyal to your mother." Meduse says to Annabeth. "Yes." "You stand by her?" "Always." "You love her?" "Of course, I do." Annabeth responds "And so did I...So did I.." Medusa tells her. "Do you know the story of how I came to be this way?" Meduse asks us. "I do." Grover says with his mouth full of food. Medusa tilts her head. "Do you?" Grover looks confused. "Do I?" He says.
Then she tells the story.

(I'm lazy and I'm definitely not gonna write the whole story down so we'll just skip to the kitchen scene. Plus, we want more Percy & Y/n right?)
"She's not usually like that. I mean, a little bit she is, but that was a lot." I tell Medusa. "She's going to betray you." Medusa says all of a sudden. "Who? Annabeth?" I ask. "No. Y/n." she says. "No. I don't think she's like that. She's loyal." I say. "Then why doesn't she trust you enough to even come inside?" Medusa asked. "I-I don't know. Maybe she has trust issues? I haven't been the nicest to her either." I admit. "Why do you even care?" I ask her. "You're mother and I were like sisters in a way. Targeted by the same monster. So I find myself feeling protective over you." she explained to me. "A monster? My mom never talked about my dad that way." I tell her. "Where is she now, your mother? Is she safe?" she asks me. "...No...She's not." I just say. "And so you trust your friends to help you make her safe? Do you even know about Y/n's past? I could tell you about what happened to her." she offers.
"I don't think it's up to you to tell me that!" I tell her.

"I could...you remove her and your friends from the equation, so that you could be free of them. If you ask me to." she say and at that, I've had enough and immediately walk away.
