After running with the children at the compound they leave me with sweat goodbyes as I wake from finally a good dream. Thunder erupts outside the window, lightning spidering across the night sky. My eyes lower to my side at the head of curls laid in a very uncomfortable position. I slide my hand towards him lightly touching his head. Harry stirs a little, chills sweep over me and reach for the blanket at the other side of me.
"Don't." I slowly turn my head to him. He stands up and stretches. Veins tighten around his wrist, I think I feel my heart flutter. Either that or I'm having a heart attack. I clear my throat trying to say something sarcastic but words fails me. I wince at the dryness. He walks to the cart next to my bed. Him understanding my dilemma he sits me up letting go of the cup. It stays in the air as he sits in back of me, holding me up with his chest. Even if he is helping me my chest rises and falls, panting out of breath. My bones crying out in pain.
His warmth is welcomed though, his glorious warmth. I just so badly want the covers over me. I shiver and he slides his hand over my forehead. "You're still a little warm, we can't have your fever going back up again." I nod and the cup of water floats to my lips. The coldness extinguishing the heat I didn't know was boiling inside.
I push it away gently and my hand falls on his thigh. He wraps his legs in between mine and crosses his arms around me bringing mine with him. Like a Koala hanging on I melt in his arms. Finally alleviating the cold chills.
I don't realize I fell asleep or how long I was out. The only thing that woke me was him shifting underneath him.
"How long have I been asleep." I whisper and he tenses.
"Just for a few minutes." He doesn't say anything for a while, just his breath and mine. I break the silence as I look up to him.
"Harry?" He knew I wasn't asking about just now.
"A week." He untangles from me and softly lays me back down. He brings the blanket only up to my hips.
"How?" He doesn't answer me again. I want to be angry or annoyed but all I can think about is how fucking cold I am.
"Briana you're awake thank the gods!" Kylo sits on the bed on my left side forcing me to look away from Harry. He grasps my hand in his. "I'm sorry this is happening, you may have been allergic to Eathlis so when essence was left to seep through your pants it attacked your immune system very deeply." I almost feel bad that I caused such stress but that is just me being the people pleaser I am. Always apologizing for something that I shouldn't.
I turn back to Harry but he has since disappeared. "What is it?" He asks.
"Harry-,"
"Has he been in here? He hasn't left his room for a while." He looks towards the hall. Confused I rub my eyes. I feel sleep coming back to me and I don't think I'd be awake for much longer.
"I've been out of it for a week?" I pull the blanket up and he pulls it back down.
"Yes, well you would opened your eyes here and there but not coherently." Jonathan says walking in. "We took shifts, making sure you didn't worsen. Harry didn't help much." He examines me, my pulse, my temperature, my leg. I barely can keep my eyes open at this point.
"Or at all." Kylo snares and I look around the room. Did I imagine him? I try to sit up and Kylo immediately helps me, placing pillows behind me. I feel my hair and it's a mess. Jonathan picks up the water glass half full and i know right then it couldn't have been a dream.
I finally get a glimpse at my leg. It looks as if I was beaten. Bruising up and down my skin, not an inch of it my fair color. "It's not so bad now." I can't imagine what it looked like before. Kylo frowns covering my leg. They both look at each other.
