WHO WILL TAME THE BEAST?

Chapter 1

                             IRENE
On the outskirts of the city, lived an old woman and her grandaughter who nobody cared about. The girl who was known as irene was a very beautiful girl with green eyes and melanin skin, nobody knew how she came to live with the old woman but of course people always made up rumors. Some said the old dame was a witch and she conjured a child. The old dame paid no heed to them and focused solely on training Irene to become a good and disciplined child.
Irene was 12 when she discovered that her temper tantrum's affects the weather. If she's happy at night the moon and stars shines so vividly that no darkness can be seen in the outskirts of town at dawn the sky will be so clear and beautiful that people might think the summer season came earlier than expected. When she's sad thunderstorms and lightning will just happen out of nowhere. She could speak to the animals and to trees and the earth. There was a day she went out with the old dame to watch the sea and she was suprised that the sea too could hear her talk. The old dame knew about Irene's mysterious powers but said nothing to her because that was the instruction given to her, She was waiting for Irene to turn 18 before she'll come clean although she told Irene to never let her emotions get the best of her so the people wouldn't put their attention on them. Irene listened to her as she taught her how to always keep her emotions neutral so she won't be targeted by the townspeople.
Irene grew up to be a very beautiful girl her big green eyes and melanin skin made her stand out from her peers not to talk about all her curves in the right places, although it made the girls her age to resent her. Suitors kept coming from the far and wide to ask for her hand in marriage and she turned them down for Irene marriage was something she wanted to do when she was older she didn't want to leave the old dame and to top it all she was only 16.
When Irene turned 18 the old dame called her one night she told Irene that she found her at the bank of the river one rainy night she told Irene that she fell in love with her immediately when she looked into her eyes and in spite of the fact that her eyes were beautiful she couldn't just leave a child out in the rain not to talk about the fact that it was at the bank of the river. She told irene how she discovered that she has special abilities when she turned 3.
Irene listened to her mother attentively and planted all the do's and dont's in her heart.
Six months after the old dame came clean to Irene she passed away.
Irene cried and cried for three whole months on the fourth month while she was still in mourning, the old dame visited her dream. She told Irene to stop crying and move on with her life.

"Irene my dear child, you must stop mourning me at once it's time for you to live your life. Go out there and learn about life, i want you to go to the city and get a decent job. Adhere to everything that i taught you and your life will be pure as lillies. You have a great future ahead of you go and fulfill it and remember nobody must know about your abilities"

When Irene woke up from that dream she stopped mourning, packed up her belongings and the journey to the city started.
