The Strength We Have (chapter 2)



The thing that I wanted to know was pass me.the question was showing an image but that picture was still unclear to me nonetheless at the last second I finally found it, or should I say, it found me." so, what now?"I asked Xan-x. although everyone seemed to not understand what I was saying,he surprisely got the message.the little girl that I just met, Matla approached me with a curious face.

she came in front of me and said "hello" adorably asked.

"what's your name?

I didn't hear it clearly the first time.

"meguel" relayed the massage back to the kind-hearted little girl."m-migu, miguall-migal?"

shook my head to make communication between us easier.she struggled hearing my name for a couple of minutes. X helped, breaking the loop that we were in.

"his name is Miguel but with an e after M.You hear now! sheesh."

*sigh*

Matla smiled finally succeeding acquiring my name in her head. the curious little girl started giving me a quiz on the spot: "where are you from? do you go to school?e.t.c

when did you awaken your key and what is your key?" I could not handle so many questions at once. I could only undertake a single question at a time.

"meguel I'm sorry for Matla ,being pesky towards you. please excuse her, will you? come over here Young lady! and give the poor-boy, space."Nina trying to control Matla's behavior. XAN -x came towards me holding something.

He was carrying a device that he called the voice interpreter.

XAN-X: "believe it or not, meguel I have *known you for a while now,we are basically like brothers. I have crafted this machine especially for you, to enable normal communication with other Humans. why did I go out of my way to make this? I don't really know,call it my human personality. Yeah! I am a half human being, I'm sure you All can already tell by how I present myself, right?; the where I dress, talk and act. my mom sadly passed away 5 Year ago...

I tried saying "what's up!" and... and, and it worked!

I was delighted by this gift. now I could talk to people without problems.

something he said was bugging me though, why did he say I'm like his brother? I asked him about it but he told me he would tell me another time. Matla chuckled and said "now, you sound like a robot, Meguel!"

now I could talk to everyone. Allen came to me, the nice boy who offered to help me earlier by pushing me on the wheelchair XAN-X made for me.it seems like this "guy " X was well prepared for my arrival.

Allen:"hi! meguel. we didn't really have time to talk earlier, did we?

so you already know my name, right?

I'm from south Africa and you?

Meguel:" Botswana!"

Allen: "cool! look if you ever need help, you can count on me.got it?"

"what are we really doing here?" asked Lora, eager to know. "and where are we!?"

X: ok,ok, okay. calm yourself Lora I know it a bit much to adjust in this kind of a situation but bare with me.

I was assigned by my father to be the leader and trainer of this team.we will discuss on the details later. let's start this off by knowing our keys. I'm sure most of you already know those abilities.you are not forced to do this, although if you decline the offer, you will be given a particular medicine that'll help you suppress the key you hold.

almost everyone was unsure if they wanted to look forward at the fate that was handed to them.

One thing was definitely clear to me.i was not going to put my tail between my legs and run. I was going to take on the challenge. (alright!) "I'm in, got no choice right?" Allen gathered his courage and joined. "where ever my partner goes I will go as well so,count me in too!" apparently we were buddies now and it only has been 15 minutes. after two recruits no one stood forward to take the responsibility that came with the power. alright now we have three members in the team.X requested me to start the conversation. "well... I can produce a shield and grow some wings."

"WOW! are you an angel, meguel?"Matla intrigued by my power.

Matla:me next! I have healing powers. I once healed my grandma from her illness at the age of 5 Years,

but when people knew how I did that, they wanted me to heal them too.one after the other I healed, people were always following me around.i was later interviewed by so many different people, sometimes they made me uncomfortable.

my mama and papa did not like this, so they told me to always stay inside the house after school. hoping that I would feel safer, they took me to school even though I could walk there.one day some bad man kidnapped me while going home with a couple of my friends, this time from school but thankfully Nina saved me from them. her power is teleportation.she says she is a agent from a secret organization that works with the aliens and assigned to be my bodyguard to protect me from bad guys and she is not the only agent that---!"

"Matla! we talked about this, don't say too much!" Nina sharply said.

Next Allen spoke. " ok...? that was unusual, I mean it already---.you know what I mean. My key is shadow.i become and control a shadow.it been a while now since I awakened this power yet my parents don't know about it. ok, who's next?"

X XAN turn to Lora and Nick.

Nick shrugged and said he doesn't recall having powers and added saying he probably doesn't have one, the same with Lora's statement. they were the lost cattle searching for their herds in the middle of the woods.in the mist of darkness X showed them the light by playing a certain video,

showing two abnormal creatures fighting each other.one fire and the other the very same large monster that I "fought" with! my jaw was on the floor, Lora frozen in place and Nick still in confusion as ever.

I still don't get it?" Nick, telling X. the second video played.

after Nick watched a man being murdered by the fire creature X-XAN said.

"Nick... that's you."
