The week had passed in a blur and today was the day Amara had to leave her pack and travel which is something she dreaded, even as a werewolf it was a tedious and treacherous journey,

Though she is immortal it doesn't mean it wouldn't hurt like hell if her small convoy were attacked, 30 years ago this would have been an easy 8 hour car journey or a very short flight but the world had descended into nuclear winter after former Russia and America decided to have a pissing contest with nuclear bombs in 2024,

The narcissistic leaders had ended the world for everybody but the Supernaturals, Mortal humans were presumed extinct after the last one died horribly of cancer the year of Amara's birth, The witches and warlocks had mostly died off too other than the few who used dark magic to stave off death, They were magic but without dark powers they were mortal too,

Vampires are immortal like were's but have gone from Apex predators to desperate scavengers since humanity perished, They now hunted in large groups in hopes of finding smaller numbers of were's to pick off outside of pack lands,

As they were supposed to live on human blood they're now desperate and weak, Were blood sustained them enough not to desiccate but it wasn't enough for them to thrive.

So now Amara had to make a four day journey from the highlands of Scotland to the Midland shire of England and hope they weren't attacked by either of the other Supernaturals.

Amara sat in silence as they ate their last breakfast with their family and pack, She was going to miss them all greatly especially her family and close friends, she finished up and headed upstairs to collect her bags, she had to travel light as their only means of travel were little old motor bikes that had been converted to run on fat, they would have to stop and hunt wild pigs a few times in order to render fat for fuel as they could only carry so much,

Wild pigs were some of the few remaining animals, they were descendants of the farm pigs and as their numbers are the greatest and petroleum non existent, fat was considered the most abundant fuel source and pigs had plenty of that,

Amara threw her rucksack on her back and tied her other bag to the back of one of the bikes, She kissed her parents goodbye and took the seat behind the packs head warrior, he started the bike and off they went.

Amara climbs off the bike and groans, her thighs, bum and groin were very sore, after travelling for 10 hours down bumpy dirt tracks she had enough for one day, they had stopped at some derelict buildings on the coast, This was probably the only place that still seemed so beautiful post apocalypse, She climbs into the sleeping bag by the fire the warriors had lit and stares out to sea

"I wish we could have travelled the world in all it's natural beauty before those idiots destroyed it, reading those old books that talk about it makes my heart ache, they speak of crops growing on thousands of farms and green as far as the eyes could see across Britain, beautiful trees and fish filled lakes" Rose says sadly

Amara nodded in agreement, the narcissistic humans had ruined the entire planet and it would take a long time to recover its former beauty, at least when it did there wouldn't be an ungrateful human scourge to destroy it again she thought as she slowly drifted off.
