"Thinking of something, darling?" Davis said, but the tone of his voice was cold. She shook her head and saw that he had untied her from the chair, but not the rest of the ropes. He picked up the collar and clamped the heavy thing around her neck, tugging the chain in the front to ensure it was secure, which it was. Maybe a little too secure. Marilynn twisted her neck so that it wouldn't be as choking, which obviously did nothing.
Davis, in the meanwhile, lifted her up and carried her to the main floor. His hands, pressing against her back and thighs, were strong despite his sickly complexion. He laid her on Everly's lap and sat down on the couch next to him as Everly wrapped his arms around her bare waist."We're going to be watching an R-rated movie tonight," he told her as though talking to a little child, looking into her eyes, "Will you be okay with that?" Then she answered with a muffled response, "No! Never!"
He responded by tilting his head away from her. "Sorry, I didn't quite catch that. What did you say?" Everly was obviously mocking her, so she huffed and looked away until Davis kicked her in her thigh, where the scab from when she was first kidnapped was still healing. "Answer him," Davis ordered, and Marilynn said something in Everly's direction that sounded somewhat like language, to appease them. When his friend stood up, he asked, "Where are you going?""Getting dinner." The other stared, and he elaborated, "Fries. At McDonald's."
"Ah," Everly said, "I'm coming too." He pushed her into the couch next to him and joined him in the hallway.
"What about her?" Davis inquired, nodding at Marilynn. "Oh, she's not going anywhere," he laughed. "Mhm," the other responded doubtfully.
"Fine; I'll make sure of it." Marilynn's eyes widened when Everly picked her up. She struggled a little when he carried her over to the table by the wall but didn't realize what he was doing until he wound the chain from the leash around one of its legs. He tied it off, and when she tried to pull away, she found she couldn't. She grunted in frustration as she watched the two depart.
When Everly and Davis returned mere minutes later through the back door, the torturous smell of fries filled her nostrils. She flinched away when Davis knelt next to her, but he had only come to waft them tauntingly in front of her face. Its aroma was overwhelming. Mouthwatering. Not for the first time, she felt hunger claw at her insides, but now it was almost killing her.
She subconsciously leaned forward, making him hold the cardboard container further away. "You want some? You want some? " He then laughed and asked Everly, who was setting the movie - the R-rated movie - up, "When did you last feed her?" "Eh. Wednesday," the other replied offhandedly, but she could hear the smirk in his voice. Nettles, Marilynn thought darkly, feeling the ghost of a pain linger in her throat.
She breathed out, Davis unwrapping the chain of the leash from the table, picking her up and setting her next to Everly on the couch. The television showed the cover of a movie with four faces ripped across it, as well as the words Les Libidineux written in bold, whatever that meant. It sounded like french. Was it a french movie? She looked away from the screen. This was going to be awful. Everly unclipped the gag from around her head and pulled her body closer, promptly starting the movie.
