The moment he released her, Marilynn stood and hurried along the wall into the back room. It wasn't much quieter there, but it was away from the main mass of people at the party. She leaned tiredly against the wall, pulling her skirt lower to cover her legs a little more. The speakers' bass was somehow louder than her heartbeat and was giving her a headache. She held up her wrists, searching for any kinds of chafing marks from last night's ropes, but there weren't any. Weird.
She looked up when a girl her age burst through a screen door that had previously been hidden behind floor-to-ceiling curtains on the far wall. "Hey," the girl breathlessly greeted her as she rushed past her into the living room. Marilynn stared, first at the girl, then at the door that was left slightly open. That must've been where Everly and the other half of the party had gone out.
The curtains were billowing outwards at the wind rushing through the open doorway, almost enticingly. She walked up to it and held the handle, glancing back before opening it. No one was looking her way except the guy she thought Everly had knocked out. He was still on the floor, his face a bloody mess, but he was turned towards her and gazed somewhat blearily at her.
Marilynn crept through the doorway, closing it as softly as she was able, because this kind of door was prone to screeching at the slightest movement. Now that she was outside, she could feel the cool night air kissing her skin and filling her lungs; it was wonderful, but she hadn't escaped yet.
She descended one story down the metal fire escape stairs and stepped onto the ground below. She looked around - the woods were steeped in darkness and didn't seem like the best place to go.
Just then, Marilynn heard a cacophony of shouts from inside the house. It sounded like a brawl had erupted in the room upstairs and it scared the life out of her. She quickly fled behind a cluster of fig bushes that grew beside the walls.
The noise died down, and once she thought her path to be clear, she prepared to run. She could go around the front and slip away, somewhere in the city.
But then, like the roar of a lion, came Everly's voice, shouting, "MARILYNN!" She ducked into the bushes again, breaking into a cold sweat. She crouched, leaning against the wall and watching Everly stomp down the stairs. He looked around, slowly stepping forward, and his eyes, hidden in shadow, roved the terrain ahead of him.
As Marilynn barely dared to breathe, her heart also seemed to stop beating. Her gaze was fixed on Everly through the wide leaves of the bush, but he didn't seem to be able to see her.
That was when, out of nowhere, the vibrator inside her began buzzing. Marilynn gasped and fell forward, squeezing her eyes shut. A sense of enormous pleasure was mounting in her core but she bit her lip to hold in the moans, mostly unsuccessfully. She hugged her knees, rocking back and forth and twitching, even writhing from the sensation. When she opened her eyes again, through the weakening wetness of her crotch, she was glaringly aware of Everly towering over her.
