Donald missed [Your Name]. He missed her laughter. He missed her voice. He missed her smile. He missed her warmth. Truth be told, Donald wanted [Your Name] to stay in Yeongdeungpo. He wanted [Your Name] to stay by his side. He didn't want to be alone.
When [Your Name] said that she was moving, Donald's heart broke. A part of him wanted to accept her offer of moving with her and her father, but he refused. He had unfinished business in Yeongdeungpo. He wanted to get revenge against not just his bullies, but also his teacher and the head of academic affairs.
He also didn't want to burden her. [Your Name] had always been the one helping him. She had been providing him with food during lunchtime and she helped tend to his wounds. Donald felt that he didn't deserve to stand by her side, not yet.
As the years went by and his gang grew, Donald never once forgot about [Your Name]. He wished he had had a phone back then because he'd have been able to keep in touch with her. He didn't even know where exactly she had moved to, not even the city, so he couldn't seek her out himself.
Donald stood on the rooftop of Yeouinaru Office Building and looked down at the city below. He put a hand to his chest and clench the front of his jacket. After leaving [Your Name], there had been a void in his chest that was never filled. "One of these days, we'll meet again, [Your Name],"

When [Your Name] first moved to Donghae, she was much more closed off compared to when she attended Yeowon Elementary School. She missed Donald and didn't really feel like befriending her new classmates. Donald was irreplaceable and no one could take his spot in her heart.
[Your Name]'s father became much busier with work. He spent little time home and [Your Name] felt even lonelier than she ever had before. She wished Donald had accepted to move with them but she had to accept Donald's choice. She couldn't force him to go with her.
As soon as she was old enough to work, [Your Name] got a job. She didn't want to stay holed up in her empty apartment everyday after school and the entire weekends. Besides, a job would mean she'd be earning money and she could save up her money to visit Yeongdeungpo.
[Your Name] got a job at a cafe at Donghae Rest Stop in middle school. It was a rather easy job with a simple menu so there weren't a lot of recipes she needed to learn. The atmosphere was calm and soothing whenever it wasn't extremely busy. She was on friendly terms with her coworkers, but she never became close to them and kept them at a distance.
In her freshman year of high school, a boy her age became her new coworker. The boy, Stephen Ahn, had an unusual brightness surrounding him. He was extremely friendly with everyone, even with [Your Name] who tried to ignore him except when it came to work-related interactions.
"[Your Name], are you alright?" Stephen asked one day as they were closing up.
"I'm fine," [Your Name] answered.
"You seem kinda sad," Stephen mentioned. "Are you sure you're alright? If you want, I can listen to your problems,"
"I..." [Your Name] could no longer hold her emotions in and needed to say it out loud. "I miss my childhood friend. I don't like getting close to people because I don't want to replace him. I can't replace him,"
"You're able to have more than one friend," Stephen told her.
"Part of me wonders if I even deserve friends since I broke my promise to him," [Your Name] said sadly. "I promised that I'd always be by his side. In the end, I had to move away,"
"It wasn't your choice to move away," Stephen reminded her. "And you were just a kid,"
"He was hurting badly," [Your Name] revealed. "His mother had just died. I wanted to be there for him but I couldn't because of my dad's stupid transfer," She let out a sigh and slumped further into her seat. "The whole reason I started working here was to earn money to eventually visit him in Yeongdeungpo. But since I left him when he needed me most, I don't think I deserve to see him again,"
