He stayed up all night thinking. Whenouis suddenly disappeared out of nowhere he was left with the grief and the prospect of having to spend the rest of his life without him.

He had never even considered being without Louis. He knew that couples broke up all the time but he never really thought they would. Then he had been forced to be without him and it happened so abruptly. The night before they fell asleep together and the last thing Louis said was that he loved him. Then he was just gone.

In a breakup, it usually didn't come as a surprise. Listening to his friends break up stories over the years they usually saw it coming. Things hadn't been good for a while. With Louis' disappearance, he had been completely blindsided.

He had worked through that over the years with the help of a therapist thinking that Louis had committed suicide. Now he wasn't sure of anything.

Time travel? It was absolutely crazy but it made sense. He decided to believe it. It was a relief but it raised other questions. What if it happened again? How was he supposed to deal with this information?

He and the boys returned to Louis' house around lunchtime. Louis was having a heated conversation in the kitchen with his sister Lottie. Louis looked at them.
"I was just gonna explain to Lottie that when they release me statement tomorrow she and me siblings won't be safe here until this storm has blown over." Louis said.

"We'll be fine, Louis." Lottie protested.

"Every inch of this lawn will be filled with reporters, paparazzi, and curious or angry people. They will stalk you wherever you go. It's not safe." Louis said.

"We can handle it." Lottie said.

"No, he's right, Charlotte. You can't be here." Niall said.

"Where are we supposed to go?" Lottie questioned. She was upset.

Harry thought about it. Louis was right. They weren't safe here. He had been so self-absorbed that he hadn't even considered the consequences of Louis showing up again for everyone else.
"

How about Jamaica? I spent some time there while I wrote my album. We can hire a private bungalow on a private beach and obviously make sure you have security as well." Harry suggested.

Lottie wasn't pleased. Harry listened to the discussion back and forth but didn't try to intervene again. Little left to call the youngest twins Dan to explain the situation. Louis was talking about going to the bank. Harry was lost in thoughts until Louis addressed him directly.
"Uhm, thanks Harry for suggesting Jamaica."

"No problem." Harry answered. He was trying to wrap his head around the fact that Louis was leaving again. It made him panic. He just got him back and now he would spend god knows how much time in Jamaica? He had obligations. Things to do, places to be. A new album to make!

Louis left with Lotyie to go to the bank and the boys started to make reservations. Harry gave them the name of the private bungalows he had in mind and luckily they were vacant.

An hour later Louis returned. Hardy knew that he had to try and talk to him now while he had a chance. He had no clue sea what to say but he couldn't just let him leave again.

"Can we talk in private?"

"Yeah, me room?" Louis suggested.

Harry nodded his head and they headed upstairs. Louis' old room looked just the same. Harry had a lot of fond memories from this room. He glanced at Louis. He didn't know how to start the conversation.

"So what does your boyfriend Nick say about you being here?" Louis asked. He looked jealous.

Harry was taken aback by that. How did Louis know that Nick... Oh, probably Niall! He looked at him. He didn't want to tell him that they broke up for some reason.

"To take my time. He was there for me when you weren't, Louis. He has helped me so much."

"I didn't leave you, Harry. Not voluntarily. Of course, he saw his change." Louis spitted out.

"That doesn't change the fact that you went away." Harry said quietly. Should he ever get over that? He had no idea.

"And I wish I could change that. Do you have any idea how fucking hard this is for me?" Louis said upset.

"It's hard for me too." Harry said and teared up. Louis acted like he was the only victim here.

Louis sighed and put an arm around his shoulders.
"I know and I'm so sorry, Haz."

"I know you are." Harry said and leaned his head against Louis' shoulder. He used to do that all the time in the past. It was comforting.

"So where does that leave us?" Louis asked.

Harry removed his head from Louis' shoulders and looked at him.
"I still love you."

There. He said it. It was nothing but the truth and that was probably part of his problem. He had never gotten over Louis but Hod knows he has tried! A smile played on Louis' lips.

"You do?"

"Of course I do." Harry answered.

"What about Nick?" Louis asked.

He had to tell him.
"We broke up. He's sad but he understands. He's actually a really good person, Lou. You should give him a chance."

"Yeah, we'll see about that." Louis chuckled.

"Play nice." Harry said and caressed Louis' cheek. "It's so weird. You're still the same person four years ago. I'm not, Lou. What if you don't like the new me?"

That was also a part of the problem. Louis loved the version of him four years ago. A lot had happened since then.
"Impossible." Louis tried to reassure him.

"I have a crazy schedule. How are we even gonna make it work?" Harry asked.

So many concerns. He stalled because the bottom line was that he was scared.
"We will. Tell me what the real concern is, Harry." Louis said.

"You might leave me again." Harry said. That was it, wasn't it? He had handled his first disappearance so poorly. How could he go through that again?

"Not by choice." Louis answered.

"No, but I would have to live without you again, just hoping that you would show up in the future. What kind of life is that? How can we rebuild a relationship with that hanging over our heads?" Harry asked. It made him sad just thinking about it.

"I don't know. You have to decide if I'm worth the risk. I will understand if you decide to walk away. I love you too much." Louis replied.

Louis pinpointed it. Was Louis worth the risk? Harry knew a life without Louis. He knew how great they were together. There was no doubt in his mind anymore. It was definitely worth it. He leaned forward and kissed him. It felt oddly familiar and new at the same time. He whimpered and came closer when Louis opened his mouth to the kiss. They fell on their backs.
