Brynn Foster lies on her bed, working on her math homework, her boyfriend Charlie sits on the floor, his back against the bed, the same paper in his lap. "I don't understand this," stated Charlie. "You should have paid attention," said Brynn. "I was busy," said Charlie, looking up at his girlfriend. "Doing what?" asked Brynn looking down at him. "Looking at you," said Charlie gently pulling her into a kiss, she pulled away. "We have work to do," said Brynn causing Charlie to chuckle, he stands.

"What are you doing?" asked Brynn, as Charlie moved onto the bed, he got on top of her, and Brynn waited for him to kiss her, but he didn't. Instead, his hands find her side, and he tickles her. "Babe, stop," said Brynn in between laughs. Charlie stops, he places a kiss on her forehead.

"Brynn, mom's home!" yelled Mariana pounding on the older girl's door. Charlie groans as he stands up, he grabs his stuff and follows Brynn to the door. "What were you two doing?" asked Mariana noticing Brynn's messed up shirt, and Charlie's messy hair. "Nothing," stated Brynn, the three walking downstairs, Brynn fixes her shirt as they enter the kitchen.

Lena enters with an unfamiliar girl, Brynn, Mariana, and Jesus share a look. "Hey!" said Lena smiling at her kids, before noticing Charlie, "Hey Charlie." "Hey Ms. Adams, I was just heading out," said Charlie smiling at her. "Okay, be safe," said Lena, Charlie gave Brynn a quick kiss before leaving.

"This is Callie. Callie, this is Brynn, Mariana, and Jesus," said Lena. "Hey," said Brynn waving at the girl, her eyes inspected the girl's face, covered in bruises. Mariana just ignored the girl, while Jesus looked at her cautiously. Lena pulls out a bag of frozen peas and hands them to Callie, she places them on her eye.

"Mariana and Jesus were in the foster program too. They came to us about eight years ago, and we formally adopted them, what.." started Lena. "Five years ago," said Jesus helping the older woman out. "The foster system sucks," said Mariana, earning a look from Lena. "Mariana..." said Lena. "What? It does," said Mariana, as Brynn started helping Lena cook dinner.

"What happened to your face? You get in a fight?" asked Jesus, Callie looks at him, then shrugs. "Callie's had quite a day, so why don't we cool it with the third degree," stated Lena. "Is there a - where's the bathroom?" asked Callie. "Second door on the right," said Brynn showing Callie the hallway, before the brunette could go in, Brynn stopped her, "Are you okay?" Callie just looked at her, before entering the bathroom.

"So... where'd she come from?" asked Mariana as Brynn joined them in the kitchen. "Um, well - I, um, called Bill - from Child Protective Services, remember him? - to talk to him about something, and he was in a jam and needed a place for Callie to stay. She's had a - rough time lately, so I want you guys to be extra nice to her..." explained Lena, looking towards the twins, knowing Brynn will be nice, she Is very accepting of the kids that have come and stayed.

"Whaddaya mean, a rough time?" asked Jesus. "She got herself in some - trouble, that's all. Don't worry about it," said Lena, Brynn looked at her mom, knowing she was hiding something. "Talk to Bill about what?" asked Mariana intrigued.

"Guess." Said Jesus. "I was gonna wait until everyone was home to tell you guys, but... I was calling to see if we could arrange a visit with your birth mom," started Lena, looking at the twins, she is surprised at their reaction, "I thought you'd be more excited. It's kinda all you've been talking about for the last six months."

Mariana shakes her head, "Yeah, I know. I just - I don't think so." The other three look at her surprised, Brynn knew how much the girl wanted to see her mom. "Really? Did Jesus talk you out of it? Just because he doesn't want to.." started Lena.

Brynn makes her way to the bathroom, the girl had been in there awhile, and Brynn was worried. "Hey.." said Brynn tapping on the door. She heard Callie sniffle and take a deep breath before opening the door.
