"Raziel." A servant, clad in a black and white suit greets Raziel as he arrives near the entrance of his room. "I've been waiting for you."

"You have?" Raziel watches the man give a regal bow to him. His face is obscured by tinted round glasses. "Then I apologise if I had you wait for too long."

"Do not fret," The man straightens himself and rests his hands to his back in a formal position. A practice he has obviously been doing for a very long time. "Madam Evelyn said you would have arrived eventually."

"Did she now?" Raziel raises his eyebrow to the statement.

Evelyn could have told me before I left for the mission that someone would be here to wait for me.

Now I feel bad for taking this man's time...

The servant nods. "She has also ordered me to introduce you to the new renovations made for your living room when you arrive to the north side living quarters."

"I see." Makes sense why he's standing outside my door. But how much was changed? The first case only took a few hours.

"Shall we?" The servant stands to the side of the door handle, completely ready for what's to come.

Raziel nods and the servant opens the door, being the first to enter.

"Woah." Raziel stops upon the first step. These changes are... A lot.

While it truly had been nestled in the living quarters, this particular room had been vacant for a considerable amount of time. Left empty and unfurnished, it wasn't used until recently, as an impromptu holding cell for a particular demon with amnesia.

Now? It looks like a room built for a noble guest.

The walls have been cleaned to a pristine effort, removing any dust and soot that was once there.

All of the furniture that has been moved in is built from mahogany. Polished just recently, the engravings etched on the wood shines from the light of the chandelier above. It is not fueled by candlelight, but instead with electricity. A power source that Raziel noticed to be prominent in the Centre district of Avernus.

"Welcome to your new home, kind hunter." He smiles at the clear expression of Raziel's awe. "It took us some time to get what was needed done, and by the telling of your expression, it seems to have been worthwhile."

"All of this..." Raziel takes more steps inside the room, walking to the centre as he looks around to every detailed item. "In just a few hours?"

The servant nods with pride.

"I must say, I am impressed. Truly."

"That is heartfelt to hear, kind hunter." Another, but shorter bow from the servant. "To continue on with the tutorial of your understanding with the layout: this spacious room holds your bed, your work desk, and the closet of clothes that Madam Evelyn has bought for you from her own personal account."

Raziel turns to each object as the servant points them out with each description.

The bed is large and wide, perhaps king sized, with pillows and sheets that are comfortable and soft with just the glance of them.

Nearby is the closet. The servant said that bought clothes from Evelyn are inside. Raziel wonders what they hold within... And what type of clothing Evelyn even assumes the demon would like.

Then the work desk. It is wide, allowing for several books to be stacked on top without much restrictions from the writer itself. Not only that, the large mirror bolted on allows for someone to dress themselves properly when needed. Raziel doesn't pay much attention to the reflection though. He's already seen a fair share of himself.

"And here," The servant opens the door, revealing the other side. "Is your bathroom. For any hygienic needs."

"Huh. So, this is the other side..." The door was barred when I was here last time.

"There is the bathtub. And here is the shower." The man consecutively points to both sides of the room, where the bathtub and shower cover entire sides and corners on their own. They are large in size. It doesn't help either that this room is less than half the size of the room that Raziel is supposed to be sleeping in.

And in the centre of the shower and tub, is a sink and mirror. Both wide as well, but not as badly as its contemporaries.

"And you said that this is my living quarter?" Raziel asks the servant, who has been expectantly waiting for his input.

"For as long as Madam Evelyn sees fit." The man nods with assurance.

Well, shit.

If my room is this massive, then...

How big is Evelyn's?

"And this, is the end of the guide."

"Really?"

"Madam Evelyn believes that you have the understanding of human behaviour. So she entrusts that you understand the complications to the rest of these furnitures and equipment's features."

"Lucky for her... Her trust is right."

"Then that is settled then." The servant smiles as he clasps his hands, right before leaving the rooms to Raziel's lonesome.

Wait...

'Understanding of human behaviour'?

But doesn't he assume I'm-

Raziel rushes to follow the servant. The man already stands outside of the room and in the hallway, his hand holding on to the door handle.

"Oh! And one final thing..." The servant turns to face Raziel, as if he had forgotten to spill some final gossip. "We've sealed every window in all of your rooms. Under Madam Evelyn's request to not have you perturbed by sunlight."

The fuck...?

"You know?"

The servant grins. Another low bow, almost revealing the man's eyes. Raziel could have sworn that he winked at him. "Do not fear...

Knowledge is power. The Valtiels know how to hide it well...

Nocturnal hunter."

Raziel doesn't speak a word. He only watches the servant close his door, giving a nod of farewell, before disappearing entirely.

Well... Raziel keeps his stare on the room's entrance. Guess I don't need my glasses here after all...
