James hears his phone alarm go off. He had set it so he could wake up early and get ready for his upcoming meeting in time. A meeting right after a huge ceremony? There is truly no rest for the wicked. He attempts to reach for his phone to shut off that damned alarm, only to realize how far the bedside table actually is.

It doesn't help that a large blonde man has him enveloped in his arms and is blocking his way too, preventing him from doing practically anything. The alarm ringing annoyingly in his ear isn't doing a very good job at improving his mood either.

And it also definitely doesn't help that they went crazy last night for what seemed like hours. He's beginning to feel the soreness of his legs.

Eventually, Dmitri wakes up. He stretches his arm behind him and with one tap on the phone screen, the alarm goes silent. He brings his arm back to James' waist and pulls him close, trapping him in his tight embrace once more.

"Dmitri..." James starts in a tired, slurry voice, as his prickly cold skin is pressed against Dmitri's warmth. He doesn't want to get up, honestly, not when he's in such a comfortable state, nuzzled in pillows and blankets and his lover. His eyelids are fighting the urging heaviness at the seams. But he needs to wake up, or else he'll be late for the meeting. He never wants to be that kind of man.

However, Dmitri is arrogant, and his arms only wrap around him even tighter. "Five more minutes." He says, voice even more slurry than his.

James sighs, bringing his eyes up to his lover's face. Dmitri has his eyes closed, breath leveled. He looks... at peace. James almost doesn't want to wake him up again, but they both had responsibilities to uphold, and he isn't about to let their relationship (that's supposed to be a secret) be an obstacle to their duties.

So he gently brushes his hand over Dmitri's cheek. Gradually, Dmitri's eyes flutter open.

"Oh... Mornin', babe," He hums at the sight of his lover. He leans in for a kiss, but James seizes him with a finger over his lips.

"Your breath..." James says, earning a chuckle from the other man. He doesn't actually mind the morning breath. It's a natural occurrence. He just wanted to fool with Dmitri first thing in the morning. Nevertheless, he takes over the move, and shifts himself to claim Dmitri's lips.

It's a gentle brush, just a peck, but they stayed for longer than they had intended to. James doesn't recall ever dreaming about this - waking up to a lover on a peaceful, bright morning and kissing him without regard of a nasty breath or nasty intents. But it sure does feel like he's been dreaming about it for a long time.

The phone alarm rings again, interrupting their kiss. Dmitri pulls away whilst rolling his eyes, then shifts around to turn off the alarm again. "Damn, yer phone sure is persistent."

"Like you," James says, brushing Dmitri by the jaw and turning his head back to him to claim another quiet kiss. "It's right though," He then mutters. "We have to get up."

Dmitri groans in protest. "Please..."

His soft tone almost makes James want to reconsider, but he's aware of the consequences of neglecting his job over a secret affair. Then it wouldn't be so secret, would it?

He pats Dmitri's cheek in a somewhat mockish manner, and turns away. He pushes himself pass the pillows and blankets upon the tangled mattress and the first thing he does once he's on his feet is head over to his phone, hoping he didn't miss much of anything when he was asleep. No text from Katherine. Did she not take the news all too well? He thins his lips. She had probably been asleep when he texted her and has not woken up yet.

But as if on cue, his phone rings in his hands. As it turns out, the alarm wasn't what had been vibrating his phone, but a call. Four missed calls now, from Katherine. James swallows. If she's calling this many times, then it's going to be important.
