Park Sunghoon dashed as if he was being chased by an enemy.

His right hand tightly grasped a cellphone, while his left hand pulled a suitcase.

He had meticulously packed his clothes, all in preparation to elope with Jake Shim, his boyfriend, who was threatened to be separated from him due to Jake's family rejection towards their relationship.

"Hello, Jake? Where are you? I'm at the airport. Are you coming?"

"Hey, Love, yeah. I'm still on my way. My dad's henchmen have been keeping an eye on me since last night. I had to sneak away from them, but I made it out. Just wait for me."

"Okay. Should I enter the gate first? Any chance your dad's lackeys will breach airport security to rough me up or worse?"

"No, just go ahead inside. Wait for me at the safest spot you can find."

Jake's voice carried a tone of concern.

He understood all too well that if they were caught while still trapped in this country, his father's underlings would stop at nothing to ruin his beloved's life.

"Just hold on a bit longer, Sunghoon. I'm still on the highway and it's raining heavily here, but hopefully the plane won't be delayed. Let's pray together for our safety. You mean the world to me, I love you."

"I know." As he articulated those words, Sunghoon's voice trembled with emotion, tears escaping his eyes despite his efforts to hold them back. "Please take care, Jake. You have my love as well. See you soon."

As the phone fell silent, Sunghoon stood frozen for a moment.

The airport's announcement board remained unchanged since before.

In the third row, their flight bound to New Zealand still proclaimed "on schedule".

There were no signs of delays that might impede their escape.

Every minute certainly held immense value at this critical juncture.

"Park Sunghoon, what brings you to New Zealand?" the immigration officer inquired as he examined Sunghoon's passport and checked his visa.

Sunghoon took a deep breath before responding.

He had never been skilled at lying, but with his fingers crossed, hoping to succeed this time.

"I'm having my vacation"—and to elope, Sir. My boyfriend is being forced into an arranged marriage, but he truly loves me. We refuse to be torn apart; that's why we need to escape to secure for our future.

The security check felt like forever. Not because the officers were overly thorough, but because Sunghoon felt he were being observed from every angle, as if the infiltrator could expose him at any moment and sabotage his great plans.
