taehyun was woken up by a notification from his phone.

groaning slightly, he sat up in bed and reached for his device in the darkness. the curtains were half open, making the light pass through them and reflect in the room. the brown haired boy squinted at the phone and immediately flopped on the bed once again when he saw the time 

5:57 am

it buzzed once more, which caused him to get up. he squinted at the screen; which was unfortunately way to bright for his morning eyes. a message popped up.

taehyun chuckled softly as he headed to the bathroom, phone in hand. kai was one of his oldest friends and he had been with him for most of taehyun's life. they had met, or should i say their parents had met near the beach's annual fair; an event that was the sole reason that the tourism near this area even existed.

both of the boys' parents had a quite strange liking towards the salmon and mackerel that were sold in the fair. so taehyun's mother was the first person to notice the fresh fish stall in the fair. this was almost 12 years ago, so the stalls were pretty low quality. but this one.. wow. taehyun still remembered the expression on his mother's face when she saw the exterior. no no this was definitely not a regular fish stall.

nothing less than a state of the art huge shop, not even stall. selling the best freshwater fish in the district. to be honest, taehyun didn't really care. for him, food was food; no need to be so particular about it right? 

well, the woman who had argued with his mom for around 5 hours, about the last fish clearly thought otherwise. never in his life had he seen people get so aggravated over dead creatures. the thing that intrigued him the most, however, was the fact that the woman's 5 year old son kept egging her on and cheering; clearly causing a scene. he managed to catch the other boy's eye and was met with a cheeky wink. ugh these type of people!

his mom managed to get the fish. clearly with a fight. both women had stood their ground so taehyun's mother invited the family over for dinner at their house, where they got along quite well. taehyun learnt that the boy's name was kai, huening kai to be exact. although they had nothing in common, kai stuck to the shy taehyun like glue. that didn't really leave a choice for the brown haired boy..but nevertheless, he was extremely grateful for someone like kai.

a small noise jerked taehyun out of his thoughts. he then widened his eyes slightly when he heard voices coming from the other room. quickly, he was reminded of the incident the previous night. raven hair and light brown eyes... i wonder, maybe he's my age? around my age? he looked pretty young..

the brown haired boy shook his head aggressively, eyes shut. of course; the boy from last night wasn't any of his concern, taehyun had simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time, yeah..

well anyway, time to head out. taehyun spent a pretty small time picking out his clothes. he decided on a white shirt with with a dark green jacket along with dark blue jeans. yes.. this would do it. kai would probably be happy to see him like this. he was constantly telling him to get out of his comfort zone? well taehyun didn't know what that meant so he wasn't gonna do it.

he walked down the stairs, now definitely lost in thought. if he wasn't zoned out before this, then he clearly was now. it was a tendency that he had built after, after what happened.

he took a deep breath to steady himself as he gripped the knob of the door that led to the kitchen. he pulled it open

and caught a sight of surprised brown eyes

along with raven hair 

and taehyun knew where he had seen them before
