"are you sure? we can stay home? i don't want you to be hur-."
"hyunggggg relax! i'm not as weak as you think i am! besides, i've rested way too much in these few hours!"
soobin bit his lip in frustration as he observed the younger boy sitting in front of him. slowly, he turned towards the eldest who was still on the only beanbag in the room. yeonjun was scrolling on his phone. he looked up for a moment, catching soobin's eye before he glanced at beomgyu.
"i think we should go if he thinks it's fine. he's not a kid he can take care of himself"beomgyu let out a squeal as he glanced back at soobin. "see! i'm fine! relax i'm not gonna get hurt again!" the day's events replayed in mind. okay he had saved a random cute boy from falling, this was the same one that had maybe stared at him on their first night in the inn. he had been so close to him..
yeonjun eyed the two lazily, his gaze falling on a worried soobin a little longer than needed. he frowned.
"though there is one condition" beomgyu was pulled out of his thoughts by the statement. yeonjun was sitting up, running a hand through his hair as he made his way towards the raven haired boy. "we return if you start feeling sick." he leaned closer to the younger.
"you're worrying soobin. cut your shit before i make you do it" he whispered softly, before standing up and reaching for his phone.
beomgyu gulped as he stared at soobin with wide eyes. okay, if he thought he was feeling bad before then he was definitely feeling worse now.

"fuck how long does it even take you to get ready!" "i'm almost done! maybe stop bugging me and i'll be ready!"
the three had talked to the owner for a while; she had started by apologising for her son. "he doesn't usually run off like this! well, uh he's always been a bit on the on the shy side but i swear it usually isn't like this!"
soobin had calmed her down assuring that it was okay, beomgyu wasn't that hurt just a bit sore. beomgyu had given her a sweet smile and diverted the topic to locations that they would visit. he kept forgetting that the beach was pretty close to the house, making it easier to access all the tourist spots.
the sound of the front door opening made them look up form their research. beomgyu's heart started racing. if it was who he thought it was, then beomgyu didn't think he would be able to control his curiosity
the brown haired boy walked in the room, not aware of the people around him. he seemed tired. he noticed the four of them, huddled around the table and beomgyu felt his eyes on him.
he didn't know how to feel about that.
"taehyun! welcome home! is kai coming home?" the woman seemed pleased to have her son home. he looked up at her and shook his head softly. why didn't he talk? was it because he didn't want to speak in front of strangers? beomgyu glanced back at the owner. she had a forced smile on.
the boy bowed at the three friends as the awkwardly bowed back. he left soon after, probably cleaning up. the woman seemed quieter after the incident. yeonjun seemed to notice that.
"uh hey.. if it isn't too personal to ask, um- why doesn't your son talk?"
the woman looked back at the eldest, her smile fading. she sighed quietly as she let her hands slide across the table. beomgyu saw her eyes get glossy and looked at yeonjun accusingly. when the elder didn't seem to realise what was going on, he simply pointed out the obvious. oh my god was he that dumb?
"oh we're sorry! yeonjun didn't mean to upset you! ahh sorry!" soobin had noticed the lady's sniffles. the other two sat awkwardly as the black haired boy tried to comfort the woman who was refusing to show her face. beomgyu heard quiet sobbing coming from her. he glanced to his side to see yeonjun's face filled with guilt. well, it wasn't completely his fault. he was simply curious; just at the wrong time.
they were so invested in comforting the owner that they didn't hear footsteps leading into the room. the sound of gasp behind him made beomgyu jump. he glanced in the direction of the sound only to find the second occupant of the house staring at the lady with wide eyes.
oh my god he looked even better up close.
the boy rushed to his mother, nearly knocking beomgyu and yeonjun in the process. he glanced at soobin who let go of the woman's hand. he held her close as she cried, whispering inaudible sentences to her. the three friends glanced at each their, it was as if they were intruding in the boy's business with his mother.
"uh we won't intrude any further, we'll leav-."
"stay"
it was soft and slow, as if deliberate. beomgyu had to blink twice to actually get a grasp of what the boy said. he wasn't looking at them but they could feel the feelings emmitting from him. as if he really wanted them to, to stay?
soobin was the first to recover from the slight shock. "o-okay. what can we do to help?do you need anything?" the boy looked up at the older. "some water if possible? "sure i'm on it"
beomgyu wasn't over the fact that mystery boy 'taehyun' had finally spoken, acknowledged them. he turned to yeonjun who seemed just as surprised. the boy was unfazed, he kept whispering soft words to his mother who had now stopped crying. she was leaning against her son, quiet sniffles escaping once in a while.
"here you go" soobin handed the glass to the woman smiling politely. she drank it quickly and set it in the table, breathing heavily. she looked at her son who gave her a small smile and stroked her hair. biting her lip in frustration, she looked at the three boys who were standing around the table.
"i-i'm so s-sorry. i-i don't know w-what came over me.."
beomgyu knelt down to make eye contact with the lady. out of the corner of his eye, he could see taehyun observing him. he gulped slightly before turning to face the woman again, smiling softly.
"hey hey, it isn't your fault! being sad or crying can't be controlled! if we made you mad or upset we're really sorry for that! we don't mean any harm, just concerned for you. so please don't take it in the wrong way and please, don't apologise!"
the woman let out a deep breath. she smiled at beomgyu, yeonjun and soobin before turning and smiling at her son as well. "thank you, all of you, truly. i'll work on the locations tonight and have them set for you tomorrow! don't worry about that" she got up from her seat, and smiled at them once again, before leaving to go to the kitchen, to get started on dinner.
beomgyu observed taehyun. his eyes were facing the ground as he blinked slowly. he wasn't moving or saying anything. soobin approached him and began speaking. "uh thanks for letting us stay.. i hope your mother gets better soon."
taehyun looked up and stared them in the eyes. beomgyu was once again reminded how pretty his eyes were. even though this was a guy whom he had just met, actually not even met just seen, two days ago; he couldn't help but feel something different when the younger's eyes met his. it wasn't a bad feeling, it wasn't a crush. just something.
he wasn't expecting the boy to say anything. why would he? even if he did, it would probably be something related to work.
taehyun was still looking at beomgyu with something that seemed between dislike and wonder, the older flinching against his sharp gaze. after sometime, the silence was broken.
