no way. no fucking way

beomgyu widened his eyes as he saw the boy step into the kitchen. he looked different from the last time the older had seen him, of course he would; after all beomgyu had only seen his eyes.

realisation struck him as the boy turned his gaze on the three friends who were sitting at the table and gave them a small bow. yeonjun's breath hitched next to him and the three of them returned the greetings respectfully. beomgyu's eyes followed the boy, he noticed him turn to the woman who smiled.

they exchanged a few words, none of which were audible to the others. his face remained stoic, devoid of any expression as he glanced occasionally the coffee pot. beomgyu was surprised to say the least, he didn't know how and why he felt something but he did. it was as if he had known the guy, even though he didn't his name.

the owner of the inn turned to the friends, smiling as she offered them more coffee. the boy shuffled in the background as soobin politely refused, flashing a wide grin. till now, beomgyu's focus was still on the brown haired boy with the big pupils, filled with more chocolatey brown hue. it was impossible. how could he take his eyes off? why would he?

"hey, stop staring". yeonjun hissed in his younger friend's ear. out of all times now? he was checking someone out now? ahh the nerve of this guy! "sorry hyung.."

yeonjun continued to switch his gaze to his junior, who was still narrowing his eyes at the owner's son; who was now pouring himself coffee, his back turned away from the group. on the other side, soobin was talking with the owner, asking about potential tourist spots. yeonjun had to remind himself that the beach destination was not the most popular spot. clearly soobin didn't think so, the older could hear his surprised gasps as the owner showed him some clips on her phone. the fox like male subconsciously smiled and instantly covered his face. 'what the heck? what's wrong with me now?'

' what's his name? why isn't he speaking to any of us? is he really that cold? ooh maybe he has a soft side? he seems interesting.. i wonder if i could go tal-'

"really?! and then we get to see what? the biggest fish in korea? really? that's amazing i never thought i'd see something like this!""guys guys doesn't that sound fun? guys? guys..."
soobin turned towards his two friends, beomgyu not even looking at him as he frowned. yeonjun was staring out of the windows, his eyes crinkling every time he saw a wave or the palm trees moving with the breeze.

soobin stared at him for while, noticing how his fluffy hair sat down on his forehead and how he seemed so peaceful even while doing such a simple activity. 'what the heck? this isn't right..'

"soobin hyung? you were saying?". the dark haired older turned to face beomgyu who was now fully focused on what soobin was saying. he sighed, not in the mood to explain anymore. thankfully, he was saved by the owner of the inn, who gazed at her son and attempted to make conversation with him.

"you're going out?" the boy nodded as he got up from the table; the three had been so caught up with their thoughts they hadn't even his presence. beomgyu once again, looked at him. the younger got up from the table, still not making eye contact with any of them. in fact, the only attempt of contact all of them had with him was the bow they exchanged at the start of his entrance.

"with whom? huening kai?" he nodded yet again, now facing his mother as she stood up to look at him. wow this guy really didn't want to talk did he? "well, i haven't seen him in a long time! please, bring him home!"

the boy smiled this time as he started to walk towards the door. it happened so fast beomgyu couldn't grasp it.

he saw the boy's deep brown eyes widen as he slipped on some spilled water. he saw him close his eyes bracing himself for the fall, he remembered being on his feet as fast as he could.

he remembered catching the boy as both of them crashed on the floor.

silence.

and then-

beomgyu was faintly aware of soobin and yeonjun's gasps in the background. slowly, he opened his eyes; still sore from the fall. his hand was wrapped around something? he was holding something? someone?

he looked down at the object or person he was holding and had to restrain himself to hold back a scream. there he was; brown eyed mystery boy, lying on the ground his eyes closed. his eyebrows were furrowed like he was in discomfort or pain and he was slightly shaking. beomgyu realised that he had his hand around the boy's waist and immediately took it away, a faint blush dusting his cheeks in the process.

the boy opened his eyes, his soft doe ones meeting beomgyu's light ones. he widened them and scrambled away from the latter as fast as he could. beomgyu noticed how he gripped his ribs and the continuous wincing, whenever he made a movement. he could feel soobin shaking his shoulders, asking if he was okay but it was like a faint buzzing in his ear.

all he saw during that moment was the look on the boy's face as he got up quickly, sparing the older a small glance before he rushed out of the inn; ignoring his mother's pleas for him to stay.

he gave beomgyu a look which radiated pure fear.

as if he was scared. even though the raven haired boy hadn't done anything to him, on the contrary he had actually saved him. he had nothing to be scared of, he was probably overreacting!

"-gyu! beomgyu! can you even hear me?!" "huh?"

soobin and yeonjun were in front of him? when? that didn't matter, he had to make sure the boy was okay. beomgyu tried to get up. that was a mistake. his body fell back to the ground as he let out a groan. out of the corner of his eye, he saw his two hyungs exchange a worried look. he frowned.

the owner of the inn arrived. she was carrying some ice along with a few other medical supplies. slowly, the three of them helped beomgyu up, it was painful. finally, he was taken to his room where soobin announced firmly that their sightseeing would begin from tomorrow, beomgyu would rest for today. yeonjun agreed, shooting the younger suspicious looks. beomgyu gulped slightly.

they played video games till the evening. it was fun, the three of them together just like old times. beomgyu never failed to roll his eyes whenever soobin and yeonjun averted their gazes from each other. 'jeez just get together already!'

although beomgyu was kept busy the entire day, he couldn't stop from exactly not thinking about the boy. he was mysterious, like an enigma. he couldn't get the look that the boy had given him out of his mind. he frowned slightly again as he looked at the clock. 11:42 pm. hmm, he should really get some sleep, it had been a long day for him after all. he quickly glanced at soobin who was knocked out on the bed and yeonjun who was scrolling his phone in the sofa. the older met his gaze, muttering a quick 'goodnight' before switching off the lights.

he huddled in his warm blankets, facing the window leading to the sea, beomgyu let out a small sigh before resolving to get some sleep.

'dammit i didn't even get his name...'
