Till We Faked It - Chris and Matt Sturniolo

Are we still friends?

I wake up long before Chris and try my best to get out of bed without waking him up.

"Goodmorning" Nick says to me, eating some waffles.

"Goodmorning Nick" I respond, turning my head over to Matt who was grabbing some more waffles out of the toaster. I walk towards him and take some out.

"Was saving those for me but oh well" He laughs. I take a bite out of the waffle.

"Gotta be eating good so we don't starve for the party" I say.

"Party??" Nick & Matt ask.

"Yeah, Eve is throwing it. She's a family friend of mine" I say, completely skipping over her brother, Colten. Colten & I dated all throughout high school, whilst me and Eve were best friends. He cheated on me so many times, all of those times I never found out. When we broke up my friendship with Eve broke with it. Moving to NYC, I spent the past couple of weeks reconnecting with her.

"I'm down" Nick responds.

"Yeah I can drive you guys, go ask Chris" Matt says.

I went up to Chris' room as he was fixing up his hair. He jolts his head backwards as I open up the door.

"Oh hey Rose"

"Hey- I was wondering if you wanted to go to a party with Matt, Nick & I"

"Yeah sure, whose party is it" He responds.

"Just one of my old friends, she moved here awhile ago"

"Alright cool" He says moving past me and going back to the kitchen to make breakfast.

The party

Finding somewhere to park was difficult. There was a long trail of cars following Evelyn's house, which made us realize how big the party actually is. As we walk through the door i'm welcomed with Eve.

"Heyy everyone!! She says. You could hear the alcohol steaming from her voice. I introduced everyone to her, and she gave me a mini tour of the house.

Chris & I stay with Eve as she guides us to where the drinks are.

"I'm staying sober so I'll pass" Chris says, Eve trying to hand him a drink.

"Well if you're looking for someone non-alcoholic then this is the way to go," She says, handing me and him a can of soda. "It tastes like beer, but it's like... not," She finishes. Chris & I pop open the tab and start to drink.

I hear a stern voice turn behind me, "Rose?" The voice asks. As I quickly turn around I meet myself with bright blonde hair, blue eyes, and a jawline that cuts sharp. It's Colten.

"Colten?" I reply.

"You two know each other?" Chris asks, pointing his finger at Colten.

"We dated through high school" Colten says.

"Freshmen year... He cheated on me throughout it though. I found out at senior prom." I say.

"You make it sound so depressing, If I could change what I did I'd do it in a heartbeat" He says, shifting gaze to Chris.

"Who's this" Colten asks.

"I'm Chris, her boyfriend." He says, reaching his hand out to shake Coltens.

"Rose I know you needed a rebound but come on now, choose someone who's attractive." He laughed.
