Chapter 25 (Going Home)

I was excited. Today is the day I get to go home.

I laid in bed waiting for the doctor to give me the all clear.

I'm wearing the super comfy pajamas Alex bought me and I'm completely in love with it.

Alex isn't here yet and I can't help but wonder where he is.

The doctor came in and checked me over for the last time. Just at that moment Alex came in "Sorry I'm late. I had a few things to do."

I smilled faintly as the doctor answered " No problem. I was just finishing up."

Alex came right next to me as the doctor checked his chart and then gave us a serious expression "Okay everything looks good. You can go home. But you have to keep things easy for the next 10 weeks at most to allow proper healing. That includes no lifting anything over 6kg, any excessive exercising or sexual activities. You're allowed to eat solid food but not any hard candy yet. You can come for checkups every end of the week so that we can check on you healing progress. "

We both nod and thanked the doctor.

As soon as he left the room I turned to Alex who already has my bag and things" Ready to go? " I just nod at his question.

He placed everything in the car and opened my door for me to enter. I smiled faintly and climbed in. He then starts to fasten my seat belt for me.

I started blushing" A.. Alex I can do it myself. I'm not crippled. "

He just ignored me and closed my door after he was done and climbed in and drove off.

Alex helped me out of the car while carrying al my stuff in his other hand.

As we entered the house I saw no sight of Bear or Katana. I frowned glancing at Alex while looking around" Where's Bear and katana? "

He placed my things on the kitchen counter" Their outside in their cages. "

I felt bad" What?... No... Why" I said sadly as I walked outside through the glass doors.

I gasped at how beautiful it looked outside. The pool was so huge and beautiful and the grass looked so soft and bright green. I saw the cages where Bear and Katana was in, and I gasped. They were big heavy duty outdoor dog kennels. With fancy dog houses.

I gasped and looked at Alex back in the kitchen. I walked to him " Wow! It's so beautiful outside. I was concerned when you told me they were in cages. I never would've thought it was that big. Why do you separate them?"

He shruged" What.. Can't a guy have outdoor taste? I separate them because I don't want puppies "

I frowned up at him" why don't you just have them fixed? "

He frowned back at me" They say if you fix a dog their temperament will change to calmer and I don't want that. "

I nod" oh... I definitely would like to take a dip in the pool. "

Alex glanced at me" You can't right now. You have to wait a few weeks. "

I suddenly looked up at him shyly then back to the pool" Don't worry. I'll never go near the pool. "

He just nods as he walked off.

That's because I can't swim. And I will never tell him that because it is super embarrassing. A grown girl that can't swim... My dad just never had the time to teach me and my mom never bought a house with a pool or let us go out to the community pool.

After Alex and I went up the stairs, I entered my room and gasped.

There was a giant grey teddy bear with a blue ribbon on my bed.

It was almost as big as the bed. I smiled as I turned around too look at Alex" ahh..wow...thank you... Why.. "

We entered the room and I went to cuddle with the giant bear as Alex placed my bag on the dresser while shrugging" Oh.. Um.. I just saw it when I got you the other stuff and so I just bought it... Thought you might like something to keep you safe and calm while you're on bed rest. "

I smiled at him then snuggled my face back into the bear. I inhaled deeply and recognize the smell immediately." I.. Is that your cologne? " I asked Alex.

He rubbed the back of his neck." Yeah   it smelled like cardbox so I just wanted it to smell good and not stink up your room."

I smiled"Thank you... Really.. "

He smiled and walked to the door." I'll be in my room. Just call me if you need something. "

I smiled as he closed the door behind him. I turned back to the bear with a smile and cuddled with it.

I must've fallen asleep because it was now pitch black outside. I yawned and went to take a shower.

5 months later

My head is all healed up. I'm allowed to go on as normal.

I haven't seen Alex as much lately. He went away a lot while some guy named Liam stayed with me till Alex was back.

It's been a few weeks since I last saw Alex. I don't know where he is.

I was enjoying the feeling of the cold pool water on my feet as I sat on the edge of the pool dangling my legs in the water,watching tiktok on my phone when Liam came outside "Hey. What are you up to?"

I turned off my phone and leaned back on my palms as I squinted up at him trying to avoid the sun "I'm just scrolling through my phone."

He walked beside me"Mind if I join you?. "

I shook my head and he rolled up his pant legs and sat next to me. He placed his legs in the water" Fucking hell!. That's so cold. "

I snorted while I continued to lean back on my extended arms and palms looking at the water as I gently kicked my legs fowards and backwards" Yeah. But you'll adjust to it after a while. "

He chuckled sitting up straight placing his hands on either side of his body leaning forward looking into the water." You know... Alex would kill me if he finds out that you managed to slip away from me yesterday. "

I glanced at him" No he won't, he'll just be mad. That's all. "

He snorted" You don't know him at all.   He's a scary man. "

I stared at my feet moving under the water. Making the surface move." Yeah... That's the thing... I don't know him. I Just met him a few months ago. I don't know anything about him... Nothing... At all. "

Liam squeezed my thigh for a second" Don't worry May. I'm sure you'll get to know him. Alex is a badass.. But I'm sure he has a soft spot... Somewhere inside of him... I personally, just never saw it. "

I laughed and soon Liam did too.
