Arrangement : with the gang leader

"This ice-cream is too good" Nelly says and I nod in agreement. 

We're currently sitting at a table outside. We're at the mall as requested. Nelly doesn't want to let go of today mornings 'incident' that she allegedly witnessed. 

"You're seriously keeping this from me?" she pouts and I laugh.

"Keeping what from you?" I say, avoiding her eyes. 

"You can't even face me whenever I bring it up so clearly something happened that you don't want to tell me about!" she says. 

"Kahle bo, there's nothing" I say with a smile. 

"You've been spending too much time with Gumbi, now you're starting to even sound like him" she says, shaking he head. 

I laugh, "that's my brother njena" 

"Mxm" she says and I chuckle. 

My phone beeps and it's Shadow telling me that he'll be here in the next five minutes. We've been here for almost two hours now so it's okay. 

"Shadow is coming, let's go" I say before standing up. 

She follows suite and soon enough we're waiting by the entrance. 

"You guys would make a cute couple. It's not like that girl really loves him anyway and it's obvious he doesn't love her" she says, shrugging. 

"Ade loves her man please" I say.

"No, she's obsessed with him. There's a difference." she says and I roll my eyes. 

"Whatever, they're still happy together. So let's just drop this please." I say and she chuckles. 

"Did you know that Ade once threatened to burn some girl with acid because she was making out with Shadow at the club" she says and my eyes bulge out. 

"No way!" I say in complete disbelief.

"Way. When it comes to her and Candice- I don't know if you know Candice but that's like the main girlfriend or whatever, anyway, they're constantly at each other but thankfully Candice has been away for a while so it's usually over the phone. I heard that's partly why she's coming back - to claim her man back" she says, putting air quotes on 'main girlfriend' and rolling her eyes afterwards. 

"Yeah, I know about Candice. I even met her on a couple of occasions. It baffles me what lengths some women are willing to undergo in order to keep a man or whatever this is" I say. 

We spot Shadows car and he stops right in front of us and we enter. Once we're inside, he doesn't move. So we greet yet he doesn't say a word back. He looks annoyed. Nelly and I exchange looks of confusions. 

"En nou?" I ask, treading because this man is so unpredictable. 

"Lerato, I don't feel like fighting." he says, looking at me through the mirror. 

I furrow my brows in confusion. Why is it that it's always me that's wrong kodwa? I did nothing this time so what's his problem. Matter of fact, I never do anything so nje angazi kuthi yin nga le demon. Yes, he is still a demon. What happened this morning doesn't change shit. He is still a scum and it won't happen again. 

He gets out of the car with a car beeping behind us and walks to my side of the door and opens it. 

"Get out" he says. 

"What did I do?" I ask. 

"Get out Lerato, I don't like repeating myself." he says and I do. 

He then closes the door and opens the front passengers side of the door.
